It's a natural filtration system to catch dust and other particles in the air when we breathe in through our nose. Actually, we are supposed to breathe in from our nose and out from our mouth, but it's hard to train yourself to do it subconsciously.

Nose hairs are to filter out dust and debris from the air..After awhile, you need to pick out the harden crust (boogers) if I may call them.....Hope that answers your question !!!!

Air needs to be warmed, moistened and filtered before entering our bloodstreams. The nasal passage incl. nasal hairs do this job for us
