We broke up 11 yrs ago and I'm not sure how to respond. I do have a Christmas card to send to him. I don't know if he's married. He only signed the card with his name and he's never sent a Christmas card until this year. I need some advice.

It could very well be that after 11 years he has finally decided that he could no longer go on without you in his life. What do you have to lose by responding to him? Do you still have feelings for him? I WOULD NOT JUMP RIGHT INTO ASSUMING THAT THIS IS IN ANY WAY A MEANS TO BEGINNING A NEW RELATIONSHIP BUT, I WOULD SEND HIM A CARD AND MAYBE SEND YOUR NUMBER WITH IT IF YOUR SINGLE AND LET HIM MAKE THE NEXT MOVE!!!

Buy a simple, not-so-personal Christmas card and send it to him. Sign only your name, or if you're married, the names of your whole family. That way he gets the same courtesy he extended to you without getting the wrong impression.

send a card.. what can it hurt. maybe he just is curious as to how you and your life is going for you. Maybe his life isn't going all that well and he is thinking of the time that you and him where together and he misses ya a bit. So people change after 11yrs. Or he just wants some closer for himself.. So he figures a card is a nice way to start.

Have it tested for bio-terrorism agents.
Do not become overly sentimental and start drinking again.
Ask your friends for their interpretation (was it a "themed" card?...warm & fuzzy, religious....humorous?) - what thoughts is it meant to provoke..or is it just a genuine attempt to be nice.
Ask yourself "Why am I asking this?"
Are you actaully wondering "what if?" - if so, be sure you get lots of input from your friends - which you'll ignore.....then....remember what went wrong....people can change...for the better....or worse.
PS....If you do reply....reply in kind....DO NOT go into a lengthy narrative about what you've been up to for 11 years.....just wait and see what's on his mind before you pour out your heart and soul....or intimate facts, or private personal data....

Ignore the past and treat this as a nice gesture. I would return the favour by sending a card with a nice message in it.

Nothing - just appreciate that he remembered you.

Should there be other interest from him, imagine since knows your address may make other attempts of contact.

It would be a kind return to send a simple card to him with a note of what a nice surprise(if is) and that you appreciate him remembering you.

Sometimes the holidays make us remember those who have cared most about us.

Send the card and just put inside that you received her card and it was nice of her to remember you. That shows that she sent you one first.

well if it was 11 years ago, i mean it's not like it's going to be an I LOVE YOU SO MUCH card. it's a nice gesture so if you send him one back, no harm done. do you still like him? love him? i'm not really sure what kind of a relationship it was, but if it was that long ago, i'm sure it's harmless to send one back!

GOOD LUCK!

You aren't obligated to respond. I know I wouldn't. My ex sent me a birthday card several years after we broke up, and I just threw it away. He wouldn't be an ex if he was so great, would he?
