My dogs run( or I should say FLY) off the deck at times when I let them outside, like they are in a race. This past summer the one female favored her right front leg and wouldn't put any weight on it. I took her to the vet, they xrayed it and couldn't determine the cause. I then took her to a specialist with the xrays in hand. The only thing he could determine was that she had a terrible sprang. He put her on a pill which was a combination of an inflammatory med and pain medication. I was just suppose to keep her as least active as I possibly could.I'd say it was close to 7-8 weeks before she finally quite favoring that leg. That was probably seven months ago and she has been fine.It also could be arthritis that didn't show any signs until this time that he had jumped off the bed. One of my other dogs has arthritis in his hip and he takes the same medication daily, and only takes half a pill.. The medication was/is Deramax and you get it from the vet. You should take your dog to the vet. I hope it is nothing more serious. Two weeks is a long time for an injury to go untreated. Good luck and I hope your dog is feeling better soon.

If hes been favoring the leg for two weeks, something is wrong. It probably is an injury as arthritis would not show up that quickly. If it's not sore to the touch and he can stand on it it's probably a pulled muscle or something. Take him to the vet. They should be able to fix him up with a sling type thing to rest the leg and maybe give you something to help with inflammation.

It could be an ACL tear. My dog, Zoe, had one and was in a lot of pain. We took the conservative route and got her a leg brace from Woundwear. It is so helpful! She is feeling much better! Check with your vet to see if this is an option.

Go to the vet, It's not fair that you know the dog is in pain and you waited two weeks to do something. Maybe its minor, but you should get the dog to the doctor to find out for sure.

Perhaps he injured or stretched a tendon, or even a muscle. If I were you, I'd see a vet. They'd probably X-Ray, get a better inside look that way. Did you check between his toes? Maybe the answer is there.

Check his paw and make sure that there isn't a tiny little rock in it. If not, take the dog to the vet.

is his leg red? check under the hairs to make sure. check his paw & make sure nothing is stuck in it. you might also want to check for bumps. that is what happened to my dog & we took her to a vet. turns out she was allergic to fleas (yeah i know sounds crazy but its true!) Try giving him a bath, but be gentle with the leg. you could play with him & try to get his mind of the leg & see what happens! If none of my advice works you might want to get advice from a vet.
