This is a annoying habit but not harmful to your health, I believe.
Ask your friends and relatives to help you, telling you to stop every time you do this.
How about wearing gloves?
Or repeating to yourself, when you get up, ten times: "I´m not going to crackle my knuckles!"
Good luck!

punish yourself everytime, put a dollar in a jar and give it to someone you hate every week, or make your own self punishment hehehe

by the way, if someone says it leads to arthritis later in life, its NOT true.. there is no scientific proof but you can always let yourself to believe to help stop

keep reminding yourself that cracking knuckles lead to arthritis so unless you want to have chronic pain and crooked fingers I would suggest you stop
