My husband is deployed to Iraq and he sends me the names of some of the soldiers that do not get mail so I can send them things and sign them up on sites to get them mail. I received a letter from my husband today and he included a name but forgot to tell me his rank, luckily I had a picture of him and saw he was an E2 now my question is. How do I write that out? Is it PVT2?

Oh by the way a letter itself of course I address it Dear SO and SO and only use their name. I just need to properly address the packages to send them out.

In the army an E-2 is written PV2.

PFC in the USMC is E2. But, I wouldn't worry about rank for your purposes, a first and last name is much more home like if you get my drift.
Think about it, Dear Billy, or Dear PFC Joe Blow.
