Piranha. They'll bite the wolves' ankles off and slowly devour the rest of them too.

It would definately depend on how shallow shallow is. If it is deep enough for the piranha's to swim, then I would imagine at least a wolf or two would be taken down. After a few wolves died, the rest would avoid them...but since this is a death match we have to assume the wolves would continue. Now, piranhas all go in for the kill at once, whereas wolves take turns nipping at their victims. I would say the piranha's would be taking the wolves out while thier still trying to get at a piranha.

Of course, a pack of wolves will win because the water is shallow and a school of piranha don't have enough space to swim and attack....

Moot point, unless the wolves are all wounded to the point of laying down in the water and drowning, the piranha will ignore them.

The wolves. They could kill the piranha in one bite, while the piranha would have to take several, if they didn't bite the jugular.

Pack of wolves, because pirahnas only attack large animals like that if they are starving. The pirahna and the wolf are both misjudged and misrepresented these days.
