Just because from many questions and answers it seems that many people just do not make the difference, and they just hate anything foreign, or just anything from Latin America.

Cincywahine... And how do you differentiate mexicans from bolivians? And good, legal, hard working mexicans from the rest? Maybe you are being unfair.

Lordkelvin, I agree... it is just that from many answers it really starts like an argument against illegal immigration, and then turns out to be an argument against latinos in general.

Zoe... I am amazed how you confuse mexicans and latin americans... and how you generalize in relation to mexicans.

I am only against the illegal immigrant, but not the foreigners in general. However, we must look at the reasons behind "illegal immigrant." Why there exist illegal immigration? Political or physiological reasons, or criminal reason. If becasue of political or physiological reaons, that is not the illegal immigrant.

I love the Latina people. Some of my ancestors are Latina. But, I do not think that any country should tolerate illegal immigrants. I would expect to be thrown out of any other country if I went there illegally. It would be ridiculous for me to expect otherwise. If we (the United States) didn't have to put so many of our resources dealing with illegal immigration, then would could put those resources into the legal immigration process.
I heartily disagree with twiggy. Illegal immigrants DO use government resources when they put their children into public school. Teaching a child that does not speak English in a class of 30 is terribly difficult for teachers that are over-worked and under-paid. The children usually get free lunch, as well.

It seems the ones from Latin America put their own selfs in the spot light. Once they started marching in the streets with Mexican flags demanding to be a citizen of a country whose flag they could not even get right until the media pointed it out. The Latins are the only ones removing flags-replacing with the Mexico flag only proved they knew how to exchange flags. Much of their image problems are of their own doing-not ours. Mexico is not letting 3000 other than Mexicans cross that border a day.

you can't dislike illegal immigrants because they do the things that the americans that think are so great won't do, i.e. cutting grass in the summer, cleaning the floors in restarants, picking vegatables. If they come into this country and do work to make a better life for themselves and their families, we should let them. I think that people are more against the dark skinned, spanish speaking, latin-american peoples that come into this country, cause i'm pretty sure that it was white eastern europeans coming into the country, that no one would really care. People also complain about the jobs that are being taken by other immigrants, it should be a message that americans should get up off their asses and do something with their lives instead of just complaining about the mexicans and other immigrants.
This country depends so heavily on immigrants that the most basic jobs would fail to get done without them and the society would start to collapse.
although i do agree that they should pay taxes in order to get healthcare and public schooling and have at least some understanding of basic english

I am against ILLEGAL immigrants. The only issue as far as Mexicans is because they are the majority over here illegally, and they know it that is why they are so defensive. It is the simple truth so don't hate congratulate (ha-ha!).

I've met new legal citizens from all over the world and have no problem with them. They are proud to be Americans, speak English and are great additions to this country. I'm against illegals.

The only reason they're "illegal immigrants" is because the US won't allow a lot of people to come into our country unless they go through all sorts of BS.
I don't mind in general, because we're all human. But I feel that if you're in America, you should at least try to learn English and stuff.

Oh, I know the difference. I worked in East Los Angeles for 35 years, and watched it turn into a 3rd world country. Nothing good comes from uncontrolled immigration, from any country. Crime, congestion, housing shortages, drain on education and medical resources only to name a few of the problems.

It doesnt matter if there are illigals here. If they are here, it is because of our goverments lack of border protection. Anyways, I hate this stuff about learn english. If people dont want to learn english, big freakin deal. This is America, we do what we want. Forigners are from any part of the world. I hate how some people think this country is only for them, and it was only ok to migrate here a few centuries ago, but not any more.
PEOPLE BLAME THE GOVERMENT NOT THE ILLIGALS. also there are illigals from every country, not just mexico. It pretty racist to think that only mexicans are illigals. I think illigals usually take agricultural jobs nobody would do for any amount. Another thing its not the illigals fault that US people loose jobs, its the employers who are breaking the law by employing them.
American culture? What the heck are you talking about? There is no such thing as american culture. American culture is one which a so diverse it cannot be identified. So whats there to change. Illigals are not changing anypart of our culture. Look you can live your life the way you want. Celebrate whatever you want and eat whatever foods you want. No one can control what you do, therefore no one can change the culture you choose to live.

I don't hate anyone. However I have no respect for someone who tries to side step the laws of the land and then assumes the identity of someone else because they don't want to wait their turn in line at the immigration office.
