Eat alot of lean meats (chicken) and fish. Eggs are okay, just don't eat too many because of cholesterol. You call also try drinking a protein shake.

Your brother is an idiot. Peanut butter is not bad for you. The fat in peanut butter is primarily unsaturated fat that is good for your heart. There is also a significant amount of protein in peanut butter. Also, eggs are incredibly good for you if you remove the yolk. There is no "grease" in eggs (I am not sure what the heck you are talking about there). Egg whites are nearly 100% pure protein. I eat 4 egg whites every morning.

Having said that, if you want to gain lean muscle mass (which is what I assume you would want to gain), you need to eat more proteins. Good sources are chicken breast (not fried), most fish (I like tuna in a can) and of course...EGGS! I would also suggest buying a protein supplement that you can mix with milk (GNC or even you local Wal-Mart carries these).

There is good, healthy peanut butter out there. Smuckers all natural is a healthy one. Look for one that does not contain hydrogenated oil. One that is made with just peanuts and salt.

The unhealthy thing is overeating peanut butter due to the high fat content. It has healthy fat in it naturally, but even healthy fat you do not want to get too much of.

Try to up your servings of vegetables such as baked potatoes, corn, etc. to help you put on weight.

If you are lifting weights, I would suggest the following things. Eat natural peanut butter instead of regular. Egg whites are great for you because they are protein. I weigh 200lbs and eat 200 to 225 grams of protein per day. It has really helped me to put on lean weight. I get it through chicken, turkey, egg whites, peanut butter, protein shakes (optimum nutrition mixes and tastes the best) and meal replacement packs. Eat more healthy calories, not Big Mac's and Double Cheeseburgers!

anything in excess is not good for you. you can't just pick one food item and snack on it because you need other nutrients to work with each other to become healthy. if you eat too much greens and veggies you will get weak and have no energy or protein. i suggest eating plain oatmeal or cream of wheat for breakfast. its carbs but its actually good carbs. if you wanna eat eggs boil them then just eat the egg whites. you can snack on some fresh carrots and celery sticks. then you can eat lots of fish and seafood. try grilled, smoked and boiled recipes. for other carbs try whole wheat bread and whole wheat pasta. i actually sound like i am giving advise to someone who wants to loose weight but eaten in the right portions these can also help maintain current weight or add on a few more punds. carbs are the real culprits for weight gain so it should be taken in the most. depending on the kind of body you wanna have take more protein for a stronger body and more veggies for a leaner body.

look for natural peanut butter without hydrogenated oils. get a really good non stick dry pan then you cook your eggs without oil. swtich to olive oil instead of corn oil or butter, it tastes a little different but you can get used to it. I use a mister made for oil to minimize it.
you need a balance of all foods though, if you include good veggtables along with quality proteins your body will optimize its resources. qualtity proteins like lean fish and chicken and beef. make sure your eating often enough.
how old are you? have you ever worked with a dieatry calculator for age and bodymass and sex?

poached chicken breast, canned tuna (just the tuna, no mayo!). Steak, roast beef. The peanut butter isn't bad, nor are eggs, in moderation.
