Yes the do snore i have had one can't say i remember anything gassy about her. I'm quite sure they all do at some point. The snoring is not so bad that you cant get used to. All stub nose dogs has that problem.

Most dogs with the smushed faces tend to snore apretty fair amount.
This is very true with Bostons. SInce they are not huge they are not really loud but the do snore. Most times it is not a problem but you have to be careful not to let them get overheated as they do not cool themselves as well as some other breeds.
As for the gas yes they can be very gassy.
I recommed a high quality dog food with few fillers and no corn wheat or soy in it and also theleast amount of sugar possible. Watch the dog treats and be sure they are also a very high quality. Most treats are doggie junk fod and those can really make the problems worse.

my mom has a boston. i take care of him in the day when shes gone. i have to close my door of the night because his snoring at the other end of the house wakes me up. gassy, its not bad, but when he does he is rank. but the good things far outweigh the bad. he is very loyal. loves attention. hes really a great dogi love him despite the snoring, sometimes the snoring is even cute. every dog has their downfalls as every person does. dont let these things keep you from getting a boston.

Any dog that has the compact muzzle, tends to snore and snort. It really isn't that bothersome, unless you're a light sleeper and can't handle a small noise.
I haven't heard anything about the breed having flatulence problems, and that might be avoided by feeding them good quality food.

A little bothersome, but actually more funny. We had a Boston who burped, farted, snored and hic cupped. It was comical!
Now with the gas thing....you can always blame the dog.

Any "short-nosed" dog has a risk of having breathing problems. However, i used to have a boston and he was find. My bulldog is gassy, but hey - so are we humans from time to time! So the gas is really just your own personal tolerance. Feed him a quality dog food to keep his stomach pains/gas to a minimum. Nutro brand Natural Choice dog food is a good one. Also keeping a dog on a feeding schedule (don't let them eat whatever, whenever, and however much they want!) helps them stay fit which will in turn keep them from having breathing problems AND help them keep their intestinal health.
