I think God brought them here, they are our mission field.

I think you may have intented to write "Why do SOME non-believers spend hours..."
Not all non-believers argue or even feel a need to argue with believers. I know I don't. But there are people (both believers and non-believers) who have a strong need to be right and also to become the majority. It's just a fact of life. So they argue and enjoy doing it.
Other people, like you and me, prefer, I think, to stay out of that kind of activity and just go about our merry lives either believing or not believing and being happy with the thought that we all have the right to do so.
The types who have a strong need to argue are not all bad though. They help keep one group from overtaking the other.
My recomendation is that if you don't appreciate the unpleasantries, be happy that you can remain disengaged on the sidelines, and let the ones who enjoy the battle help keep a healthy balance that tends to help keep freedom of choice alive for both believers and non-believers.
Hope my thoughts serve to help you live a happier life--one that is free of stress over things you can't control.

It's an ego thing. Because they have no frame of reference for understanding things of God (not indwelt by God's Holy Spirit), they project that Christians don't either, so we must be "less highly evolved" than them, and they come here to feel "superior".
I asked the same question when I first beheld this phenomenon, but then it occured to me that atheism is a belief system requiring faith as it is unproven and unprovable, so they are religious people, and thus they have a right to express their religion here on R&S.
You'll notice absolutely NONE of them claim to be agnostics. Agnostics (rightly) spend their time on the philosophy board.
Besides, people so persuaded in a delusion can only be laughed at. Otherwise we'd have to pity them.

Well, this is the Religion and Spirituality section, not the Christianity section. I've seen several questions regarding Wicca, Islam, and Buddhism, to name but a few. I am a Deist, I do not believe in Christianity. If someone ask a serious question, I answer it (my major in college was Religious Studies, much of it about the Bible, and I feel qualified to do so regardless of my beliefs). If people want to ask stupid questions, then stupid answers is what they will receive.

i do no longer bash every person. and that i'm useful, via your definition, i'm a non-believer. yet i think of it quite is sinful to be detrimental or define every person via something they don't seem to be. It gets tiresome that particular Christians have faith they have a monopoly on spirituality. My opinion is that quite often they don't realize it. they have the the suitable option to locate, in spite of the shown fact that, basically as I do, for we are beings on the comparable adventure whilst all is declared and performed.

I have wondered this for a long time and have concluded that there must be something within them that is not quite settled yet, as far as beliefs go. It is similar to a teenager rebelling against parents in an attempt to become an individual, but still needing tha parents. It seems that here the bashers are having trouble separating and going their own way, and I don't get it. They should just move on in their own lives and be in peace.

Many people trash the things that they are afraid of. It may as simple as this or it could be as complicated as this.....The people who are bashing Christians may be secretly wanting to know more and are afraid of asking questions out right. They may actually feel like the only way to get information is to bash the very thing they want to know about in order to get a response from someone that might give them the info they want without having to come right out and ask for it.

Why do some Christians not understand what this category is about.
It's not so that Christians can get together and have a rally.
It's for EVERYBODY to exchange ideas and beliefs even with there is disagreement.
I'm a non-believer and I have never "bashed" anybody on here but I reserve the right to participate.

People with strong belifes either way will very often argue their belifes to get others to see it their way. Others just like to argue. There are people everywhere who will go out looking for a argument.
Edit:Your questions are also posted in the general society and culture section.

When Christianity has an agenda to limit human rights, it is incumbent on all of us to bring up the absolute risks that are present:
The risk to science education
The risk of jailing homosexuals (again)
The risk of reducing women's control over their own bodies
The risk of having religion forced on junior officers and enlisted men by the Christian officers.
The risk of tax payer money being spent on religious recruitment.
And these are only a few.
