Good point, I will clear up my question.
I have been diagnosed with adult Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity, but did not want to take adderall xr which is what was recommended by my doctor. I did however start taking lorazepam. prescribed recently,by another doctor for night anxiety and trouble sleeping which was affecting me a lot. However my ADHD seems to be affecting my daytime activities so I was leaning towards talking to my doctor about getting the adderall xr. However I did not want my doctor to think that I was mearly trying to get this medication just for kicks. I guess it boils down to this.

Can adderall xr be taken during the day for example and then the lorazepam in the evening without any problem. I do plan on talking to the doctor about it. But I wanted to see if anyone had used them without serious side effects. Like I said I do plan on talking to my doctor but wanted to hear general opinions from someone who had used them. thanks

Yes, I have been on both Adderall extended release, and Ativan, the brand name for lorazepam. I use the Adderall for adult ADD, and the Ativan to help me relax and sleep. To a certain extent, yes, they would "cancel each other out", implied by answer #1, but I never took them at the same time. What would be the point. Adderall is amphetemine, so you'd need a few Ativans to offset the Adderall. Any way, what do you want to know?

RE: Does anyone here take both adderall xr and lorazepam? I want to know...? if they can be alternated succesfully. I did however later start taking lorazepam prescribed recently, by another doctor...

I do not take those but I know what they are. I would assume that they would sort of counteract each other. You would probably still get some of the attention benefits from the adderall but you wouldn't be wired. That's my opinion. You can ask any pharmacy though, just call them.
