Not very often unless they have gastric distress. Using good quality cat foods like Science Diet will GREATLY lessen the problem.

Oh! yes they do!!! I have 7 cats and all of them fart. I have one that well clear the room. It can be from bad food or some thing that they have gotten into. So be care full not to leave human food out for them to eat. However, I feed my Cat's the best there is and my one Cat Corns Rex will stink you out. Oh and by the way he is a licker.

Yeaaaaaaaah! My new kitten gets farty in the evening. You can't hear it but you sure can smell!
I don't know whether it's a really bad thing but I might change her food cause it seems that's what is causing the gas.
So yes. Cats can fart too so next time, you can blame it on the cat! hehe

Diet is the determining factor. If you feed them table scraps and such, the stench can become quite overpowering.
Feed them dry kitty food, you will rarely have a smell. They either do not fart, or they cut farts that have no odor.
Feed them candy, and their farts might smell of cinnamon.

YES! and they are usually stinky too.
My one cat is really bad with this and she only farts when she is sitting on people. She finds it funny. She will jump up on their lap, fart, then jump down.

YES and my daughters cat STINKS when it farts. Smoothie jumps up on your lap farts and takes off.... leaving you gagging on her stench.
