How much sugar should a fifteen-year-old girl consume? I feel pretty bad, because I just ate half a protein bar and some of the chocolate caramel was stuck to the wrapper, so I just licked it off. Now I'm wondering if I should have done that, because it was just sugary stuff. Should I worry about it? It was just a little piece but I can't stop feeling guilty.

There is no "recommended" daily amount for sugar, because you could get along just fine without any at all.

You can get all your energy needs from complex carbohydrates. but at 15 if you are exercising and thinking enough about your health to choose a protein bar, lick the chocolate. You can use the caories. On the other hand if you are over weight and nt exercising, choose carrots or fruit for a snack.

You don't need sugar!

Try to stay away from it, and cut out as much of it as you can. Your body doesn't need the simple sugars found in a candy bar or other such junk. It needs the complex sugars (carbs) in bread and whatnot.
