I would really like to just walk right up to them and ask them if they are single and if they would go out with me, but I don't know if that is good enough. Am I supposed to have long conversations with them before asking them out? Do compliments help or hurt my chances? What is the best way?

If you know them at least a little then that might work but compliments ALWAYS help. unless they're those stupid, cheesey, crappy pick up lines no girl likes to hear. If a guy were to come up to me there's a pretty good chance I'd say yes, or at least a maybe.

don't use cheesy pick up lines what ever you do. You can compliment them try to pick someething they aren't compimented on normally. example may be their sense of style or the color of their lipstick, if they have pierceing blue eyes or something don't tell them that they have beautiful eyes instead try telling them that their skin color really accentuates their eyes. pretty much what i am saying is don't compliment them on the most obvious thing. Girls see right through that. Another piece of advice is don't ask right away if they are single, have a short conversation first and then ask. Even if they are dating someone, at least you were able to make a new friend

The best way to approach girls is to give them some serious help because a friend in need is a friend indeed. I have a friend who I don't know very well and one day I asked if he can help me proofread my essay,and he said yes. The next day he send the essay back with soooooo many great advices on it. I can tell he spent a lot of time doing it and I was so moved. I think this is the best way to approach a girl.

I can't answer for every woman in the world however I can tell you what I find attractive and what my friends do.
First of all, be honest, compliments are great but only if they're sincere.
Second make her laugh, we love guys that take the time to make our day brighter.
And last but certainly not least, remember sometimes women are just a nervous as men and you never know until you try. You lost nothing if you try and she's not interested, you may lose something great if you never try.

Well that certainly depends on the forum, are you talking about at a dance club or a work/school environment? Conversation is important, you have to plant the seed. Making a joke or a funny comment is the best way to start. And don't get discouraged, some girls will size you up the minute they look at you and decide they aren't interested. If that happens chalk it up to experience and move on, there are plenty of fish in the sea.

You should casually greet them and give them a compliment or two. Then casually ask them if they would like to go out with you sometime. Don't come out of nowhere and just ask because that would probably a NO immediatly

The best way to approach a girl is to start by being polite. You know maybe introducing yourself, and try to get to know her and then go ask her to get a drink with you. After you could ask her on another date.

You do not have any problems to talk to people who you know for a long time, do you?
So pretend, you met a person you know alredy very well.

if you really wanna know you must compliment them alot and hang alot with them bang ur dead meat ur like humpty dumpty wen he fell but then he broke so its like u u r doing good but them u fall and ur secret is broken and it is hard to get over it and start over again what i do is compliment them NOT TOO MUCH and hang around them BUT NOT ALOT THEN UR A STALKER LOL u wont want that that is bad soo good luck with the ladies .
