1. Be sure you are working with a hungry dog.
2. Be sure your treats are amazing (chicken, steak, etc.) The treats should be small (as small as a pea) so that your dog eats them quickly and is ready for another right away!
3. Keep your sessions short. Count out 10 treats and stop when the last one is gone.
4. Ask for small parts of the behavior you want. If you wait around for your dog to back up 20 steps without rewarding the first step, you won't be successful. So reward the first parts of what your dog wants to do.

Also, if you're confused about how to use a clicker, there are a lot of sites to look at. If you ever feel frustrated with training, just stop. Your dog can tell if you're not feeling good! Here are some sites to help.

Yorkies are difficult. The best thing is to start with basic commands like sit, stay etc... Take your yorkie for walks and train leash and collar methods. When you stop tell your yorky to sit at the same time and so on.

You're not training well, your timing must be completely off. Head to an obedience club to teach you how to train your dog.

Teach him as you would any other dog.
