Someone has compared knowing there is no God with knowing there is no silver in India. To know for certain there is no silver in India, he says you'd need to look under every rock, look at everyone's dental work, look in every bedroom drawer and in every bank to know there was no silver.

I personally think this argument is fallacious. Why? Well for one, God is said to be omnipresent, that is, everywhere. So to prove God does not exist all you have to do is demonstrate there is one place in the universe (or on Earth) that God isn't. If you can prove that, then God doesn't exist. That might not be easy to do, but it's worth a shot.

Since two things can occupy the same space at the same time, God is nowhere. Hey, I'm on to something LOL

There is no where God is not, so it is fruitless to search under the rocks. And in the end, believers would still believe. You should find a better way to spend your time young man, than trying to prove to Christians that God does not exist. They never needed your proof to begin with. GMA

Ohh! I like the fallacy you pointed out in that comparison. Other than that fallacy, I have a few things to say in response to your question:

- If the comparison had no fault- and was completely accurate, then it would be quite diffuclt to say for certain "there is no god" since it would be almost impossible for one to look in every location in the world to be certain that god does not exist anywhere
- Going along with your second paragraph (acknowledging the fallacy in the comparison), one could say that there is no god because (for example) they look at Darfur or Iraq (remember this is an example!) and see the horrors that are going on there and say "there could be no god who would allow this" etc etc. and as you've stated, if god isn't somewhere, he isn't anywhere.
- However, this all obviouslly depends on your faith, but I will elaborate more on the above example- those with faith in God will often say something to the effect of: God gave life to all of these people/creating everything so he obviouslly exists, the horrors that are there (or elsewhere in the world) are because of man's sin, etc etc... and then one could continue on with: yes god is omnipotent (all powerful), and he very well could stop all of the horrors that are going on in the world, but he allows them to continue not because he is a bad god or a poor father but he allows them to continue for the same reasons that he allowed adam and eve to commit original sin. It wouldn't be a very great task to have a large following of robots (humans) without free will who did not commit sin and always worshipped god, but how amazing is it that all people have been given free will and a large amount of them CHOOSE to worship/thank god (however they describe their god) and CHOOSE to help make the world a better place to live, etc.
- It really all comes down to faith; and proof is a matter of what you believe. Most of us nowadays believe in science discoveries because they have proved scientifically that things do or do not happen; and thus, we have faith in science. This is not any different than the proof that jesus was actually the son of god or the proof that the medicine man of an indeginous culture can really cure a sick person with lavender and sage- the people who believe these things have faith in them and therefore the "proof" they recieve is in direct relationship with their faith.
- sorry this was long and strange, but I hope it made sense enough.

I wonder, though, what the point of alll that effort would be. It would imply to me that you didn't want there to be a God. That for some reason God, or the idea of God, really frightens you.
There are two solutions to that problem:
1) Prove to yourself there is no God - which wouldn't change the fact that God is or:
2) Get to know God, and find out how to be reconciled to HIm. Why have Him as an enemy if you can have Him as a friend? Especially considering that's what He wants anyway.

Furthermore, if god is supposed to be omniscient, omnipotent, perfect, and totally benevolent, then not one of his creations can have any traits or qualities that could be described as evil...

By looking at the world around us, we can decisively conclude that it was no such god that created this place. There are, "evil," people all over.

Some will say that evil is just a lack of good, and that it came to be by the individual not choosing the path of god, etc. etc.

However, if the supposed god is truly omniscient, then he would have known this would happen. If he knows these things will happen, yet he still makes the people that choose wrong over good, then he is still responsible for putting that evil into the world. Also, if he IS responsible for that, then he can't truly be benevolent. If he IS truly benevolent, then he can't be omniscient.

If he is truly benevolent, and not omniscient, then he isn't perfect, because his creations don't turn out the way he'd prefer them to turn out.

If he lacks the ability to make things turn out the way he wants them to, he cannot be omnipotent...

In conclusion, god, as described in the bible, CANNOT exist.

To say otherwise is similar to saying, "5 + 5 = 11."

Also, people who think that god gave us free will are incorrect.

A god who knows the future, and who makes us deliberately, knowing each of OUR futures, is only making us so that we will carry out our destinies.

If our futures are known, then we are merely fulfilling fate. There is no free will.

... IF there is a god, and IF he knew what we would be doing before he made us, then EVERYTHING we do, IS HIS WILL, not ours...

To prove there's no God, you first have to prove that more than 100 men and women from different continents and about 1000 years of difference were wrong when they wrote the same things about the same God and without any contradiction!

comparison of god is something it can't be imagined.

But one thing is sure, you would speak a thing only if one form or the other it exist. Likewise the concept of god has been still into 21st century. Still 60% speak of god. so, the percentage is high. And it will be higher. Imagining this way it is believed to exist.

Though it exist, you cant compare it. for example, you can feel air, but it does't visible to your eyes, likewise electricity. so, it not also a matter of silver. Because god has created everything in this universe.

My point is it is foolish in comparing a creator with creations!

God may choose to be omnipresent, but since he makes the rules, he doesn't have to be omnipresent.

He may also choose to be present in a way that's not easily discerned by the average heathen.

Keep looking under those rocks.

Can you prove God doesn't exist everywhere? I would say even during the worst times, murder, etc., God is there. God so loved us he gave us free will. All things are recorded for all times. God does not interfere with our free will, though......

I knew an old man that thought that there were men in his radio that read the news and played music. Now you and I know that there were not little men in his radio. By your argument we would have to take apart every single radio in the world to prove that there are not radios with little men in them.

Well if you think it is worth a shot, then point the arrow and shoot. For you will not find there is a place where God is NOT.
