Just wondering if anyone knows of any cheap healthy snacks, other than fruits, that increase your energy and help with concentration.

If you are looking for something other than fruits and vegetables as healthy snack food I suggest that you avoid the snack and cereal aisle at the grocery store. Instead, I suggest that you leaf through snack section of Allrecipes.com. Be aware that these recipes require ten to sixty minutes. If you do not believe that you have the time to make any of these recipes than I suggest that you stick to the fruits and vegetables, just don't be afraid to explore. Mother nature did not just create apples, oranges, and bananas. She also created Mangoes, strawberries, pineapples, grapes, melons, nuts, etc. Try something new. See if you like it. You may be surprised to find that just because it has a funny sounding name and looks really weird that it taste really good.

Pretzels work wonders for me. Not the crappy skinny kind, but the huge ones. And peanut butter is supposed to be really good. I had a friend who would eat it during breaks in the ACT. And I highly recommend Cheerios or Mini Frosted Shredded Wheat. Both very helpful for all-nighters and such. Oh, and I find baby carrots help keep me awake sometimes.

At my school when we took the huge state wide test we got pretzels. It really does work! Our grades (from what i've heard) were awesome. Fruit juice, like apple juice, might work good too. It varies really. Let's just say good study snacks are in the eyes of the beholder.

SUSHI! Brain food all the way. Also, wheat germ and ginger. Try a protein shake with both in it and some fruit and yogurt - frozen bananas a re good in it as a thickener. . .

Red bull! It keeps you awake and alert and ready to study! Fish is brain food..as long as your not starving yourself or piling up on junkfood, any nutritious snack (crackers, celery, tunafish, salad) will keep you concentrating.

There are conentration drinks you can get; they're bright neon colours. They're, like, vitamin drinks, and you can get some for energy, some for concentration, and so on...
