We have a friend, Gary, who wears a prosthesis on his right arm and hand due to a car accident. Whenever we see him, such as at a wedding or funeral, I remind my husband to extend his left hand in order to shake hands with Gary. I do the same. It prevents an awkward moment and it's no big deal. But I would have no problem shaking the hand of, let's say, a burn victim. Touching one another--even if it's just a quick handshake--is a nice expression of one human being greeting another. I prefer it to a hug.

No...because I have. Just lose all expectations of how you think it should feel. It is still skin after all. The only thing that may feel different is the underlying structure of the hand.

I will say though, that most people who have issues with their hands usually don't offer to shake, it can be uncomfortable for them physically to do so. So if the opportunity presents itself, I would let the person initiate contact if they choose. If they do so choose, don't hesitate, smile and shake!!

frequently speaking, i does not be in any respect uncomfortable shaking hands with a guy. yet, having reported that, i have regularly occurring some disgusting adult males I want now to not bypass everywhere close to, a lot less actual have actual contact with. Are you confident those females paid any interest for your hand sticking available? possibly they basically did not word? would nicely be they concept it replaced into too formal of a gesture, too. human beings are strange.
