What is a site that gives you your credit report for free and is not a scam?

There are tons of sites, just pick one - Google free credit report.

Nothing is totally free, on most of these they are selling your info to marketers or trying to sell you something themselves. Personally I would rather pay a few bucks and avoid all of the extra spam

Many sites are not scams. I believe you are asking for a site that does not include a 'free trail' in a credit monitoring service. The US federally mandated site for free reports with no strings attached is annualcreditreport.com

www.annualcreditreport.com is the website formed by all three of the credit bureaus after being ordered by the US Supreme Court to give all consumers complete access. Per federal law, you are entitled to one free report per bureau per calendar year.

The report itself will be free, but the score is not free nor have they ever been free through the three bureaus. You will need to pay a minimal fee (about $8.00 US) per bureau that you order the score from.

www.freecreditreport.com is run by Experion and requires you to sign up for their credit monitoring service in order to get the scores. They are currently under invesitgation by the Florida Attorney General for deceptive advertising practices.

Experian.com is the best. They also give you your free credit score if you sign up for a free 30-trial service. FYI, all other sites may be free but your credit report will always differ from each one. Experian holds the best recognition!

Be careful where you go on line for this info. You can end up putting yourself into terrible bind. Some are and some aren't. I prefer going through the government. You really need to check things out for yourself.

Go through yahoo and click on law on free credit reports.

i have not found one as of yet that is not taking or asking for your credit card numbers if you find one let me know. If you apply for a credit card and if you are refused you can send the notice to the credit people that refused you credit
