It depends on your risk factors i.e. if you have diabetes, hypertension, peripheral artery disease, carotid artery disease, or history of stroke or TIAs, or coronary heart disease. Additionally, one must look at family history. Next, you look at the HDL. If it is low (below 50 for a woman, or below 40 for a man), then your LDL is more of a risk. Lastly, do a waist measurement! If your waist is greater than 40 inches in a man, or greater than 35 inches in a woman, than you would be advised to lower your LDL to below 100 to start, with the ultimate goal of lowering it below 70mg/dL if you have any of the aforementioned diseases.

It is considered high but on the low end...diet change more exercise...I think the number should be 140 or lower..LDL is your bad stuff so chuck the fast food and soda and cookies and chips and up the fruit vegetables and grain breads...Mine outdoes yours by 100 and I am on fish oil.
