If you're a U.S. citizen, as of Jan. 23, you'll need a passport to re-enter the country, even if you're flying to Mexico, Canada, the Bahamas or other Caribbean nations, places so familiar to many that traveling there seems like a domestic trip.

Jan. 23, 2007 you will need one when you fly and the following year for other travel..i live within 30 minute drive of 3 bridges into Canada and when we do cross it doesn't feel like we are in a foreign country, its Canada...i do feel this is really gonna hurt the local economies on both sides...know how many folks comes from Canada here to grocery shop, how many folks from here go to Canada just to play bingo,or how many come here for sporting events...something is needed for security purposes but a family with young children who want to take a day trip to marineland are not gonna spend money for a passport for a day trip...whats wrong with some type of national id card as was mentioned before by the government

This is old news. Already have my passports. I travel to Mexico all the time. Love the resorts down there. But illegals can come over the border and reap all the rewards of being in America with out a passport. Makes sense don't you think? NOT!

Once again the law abiding citizens get screwed for what the illegals do and they still run free. Just one more forged document to add to the welcome packet.
