Hi Fran! How old are you? As long as you're of the right age to make an adult decision you should do what you think is best. I'm in the EXACT same predicament as you. I am in love with my best friend’s younger brother. Only difference between your situation and mine is he is only 3 months younger than me. He was a year behind me in high school though. I have known my best friend for eleven years as well. I grew up picking on her little brother and playing video games with him when he got to that stage. We grew up around horses and we would tell him he couldn’t play with us cause he didn’t know how to ride. I remember him liking me all throughout his middle school years, I thought he was cute but I never said anything.

My best friend and I went to separate schools during high school so we didn't get very close again until after our sophomore year. Anyhow, during that period her brother grew into a ridiculously gorgeous guy. He had been going to the same high school as me, but I never really paid much attention to him until I started to notice how a lot of other girls and my friends started to notice him. His parents are like my parents, and his sister is like my sister. When he dated girls we didn't like we would tell him and he would get rid of them. I knew that he liked me my senior year, and his family would make fun of me and him for it, but it was so embarrassing. I would just act like the whole idea was disgusting.

Not too long ago, I was at his apartment with my best friend like usual. We were just hanging out after having dinner. We all went to the same college so we had spent a lot of time together. I was sitting next to him on the sofa and he reaches over and grabs my upper thigh. I jumped away from him and he made some remark, next thing I know he's offering me to stay the night. I acted as if I was appalled but everything in me wanted to take him up on it, but of course I couldn't cause my best friend was right there. She was freaking out on him because he had never made it so obvious what we he wanted.

Anyhow, I left the college we were all at and went out of state, I haven't seen either of them in a year. I made up my mind that I'm going to go visit her since they live together now, and she's going to have to like it or dislike it. I don't think she has a problem with him liking me, but I don't know what she'll think when she finds out that I feel the same way about him. I'm just going to show up and let things run their course.

If I were you I would talk it over with your friend’s brother. Let him know that you have feelings for him and see what he thinks. Make a decision together on what you think is best for you, him, and your best friend. If he feels the same, come out and tell your best friend together then it might make it easier for her to accept. If you spring it on her alone she might be mad. If you're with him, I think it might take the weirdness of the situation out. The weirdness with me is not with his sister but with his family. Especially his mom.

I think if you love your friend and she loves you then she can probably accept the idea. If not, then you have to think if throwing away an eleven year friendship is worth being with the person you love. Complications will probably come up since after all blood is thicker than water and if she disagrees with the whole thing the outlook is probably not the bright for the future unless she can learn to accept it. I think she might. Why wouldn’t she? It's the chance to see her best friend and her brother happy with people she already knows. I don’t know if you like my advice or not, it’s just what I intend to try. I hope your situation works out for you! Best of luck! Cheers!!

Well it depends.. do u think he's a Ville Valo .. type guy or some dude from Kiss? lol..ne wayz i think u should just talk to your best friend about it..tell her how you feel..and if she's comfortable w.it then go out w. her brother and if she's not then don't..because in the long run it won't be worth it.
