Fear is a stupid reason to pretend to believe in something.
Your flawed argument is called Pascal's Wager. You forget something...there's more than one god. If you're wrong and Thor is the real god, you're going to hell. Or what if the Hindus or right? Or the Muslims? You can't worship them all "just in case".
If I'm wrong about there being no gods, then I'm wrong. And I will have lived a life I can be proud of. If I have to pay consequences for that, so be it.

Christians being wrong doesn't imply lesser consequences for them. What if Christians are wrong and they end up in Hades? Or the Islam hell? Or the other hell counterparts of other religions? That would be just as bad as an atheist being wrong and ending up in the Christians hell. That is just ONE of the many flaws of Pascal's wager (which you have described).

I accept as true with you yet such as you mentioned, some people priorities are different than yours. i've got not got any infants so the flaws you mentioned are not somewhat on my ideas. Christians are taught that this existence does not be counted. for this reason the communicate of Heaven, and so on. i in my opinion do no longer % to pay attention approximately gloom & doom the two. If somebody preaches to you, in basic terms walk off. that's what I do. there is not any admire of others ideals. this is the actual imaginary perception. people would desire to be sure all their ducks are in a row until now they arrive to a decision to "shop" others. Edit: in basic terms such as you mentioned, I difficulty in regards to the right here & now. this is all i can do. it may be amazing if the international have been a safer place for infants to enhance up in. I do my section to no longer upload to the insanity and that's all i can do. faith isn't the clarification for wars. faith is guy made. God is God. completely different. people who kill or initiate wars in God's call do no longer care approximately God or any message. that's an excuse to kill people wrapped up interior the be conscious faith or God. this is a lame explanation. If the devil became seen upon as holy by ability of the plenty, those comparable people could kill & initiate wars interior the devil's call. faith is guy's way of scaring people. God isn't frightening. people are those that are frightening. i do no longer blame God for wars, and so on. those are human possibilities.

Pascals wager. Try searching for this on previous questions. You will find that this question has been asked here ALOT. A religion should mean alot more to someone than just some form of "after life insurance policy." And if you are correct about whatever form of christianity you believe in, do you really expect some all powerful deity to buy, what I would consider to be, a cowardly, flimsy pretext? I think you're clutching at straws here.

Pascals Wager - billions served daily.
Here it is on Wiki hon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pascal's_Wager
The main responses to this, not from Wiki, but from me:
1. Then you're just deciding on god because you're hedging your bets. What kind of a god is going to reward a bettor over an honest skeptic.
2. If that's the case, then just pick the god with the worst hell and go with him.
3, It assumes you can CHOOSE belief out of free will. (As if, hon, if I put a GUN to your head and told you to believe in the norse god Thor or I would blow your brains out, you might be able to SAY you believed, but lets be honest - you can't make yourself.)

You're assuming that wrong for a Christian means that there is no god. What if it's just a different god who doesn't like people believing in something else? Then you're equally screwed.
One of a number of fallacies with the argument.

What if you are wrong about the great god Ra. The Egyptians were quite certain that you wouldn't be admitted to the afterlife without him. What about Thor, and Odin, and Zeus, and Allah, and The Great Spirit, or any of the other thousands of gods that people have made up.
You are going to be a busy person trying to worship them all with that fear attitude.
See, you are an atheist about all the others. I only included one you didn't.

I've seen no evidence I am wrong, at all.
I've read the holy book of pretty much every western religion, I've found horrible ideas contained which I do not believe any loving god who would wreak the destruction given in the bible on cities, would allow to exist in their own book.
I don't see something that is to complex to have come about through natural processes.
I see no reason for a god, I see no proof of god, I see no reason to waste my life worshiping one of many which could possibly be the right one.
If I'm wrong, I'll enjoy hacking them off one last time before the fling me where ever.

Ah yes, Pascal's wager still lives I see. One of the first things dealt with in first year philosophy.
And debunked about 10 minutes later.
The fact is, you lose the bet. You proceed from a thoroughly false assumption. You assume that god is real. When of course, it isn't.
And while we're on the subject, tell me this; do you devote your life to a non-existent sky-pixie solely out of fear of ending up in an imaginary place called "hell"?
You have my pity.
