i can't believe it...

i moved to Mexico and eventually had to move back to the U.S.

i was shocked but the following are just some of the outrageous problems and examples of discrimination that me and my family experienced while living there:

1- people expected us to learn Spanish (that's pure oppression)
2- government documents, road sign, etc. weren't in english
3- the schools wouldn't teach my kids classes in english either
4- i didn't have the "right" to get a job there without filling out the legal paperwork
5- hospitals expected me to pay my bill and didn't want to give me free healthcare
6- i wasn't allowed to vote in their elections just because i wasn't a citizen of Mexico
7- i got in trouble for protesting in the streets against their government
8- people were angry that i flew the American flag from my house and had a "white pride" sticker on my car

what gives here? i don't see what i did wrong. any ideas?

in response to Rostov -

i appreciate your answer, and have just one comment in response.

actually, foreigners are not permitted to protest or "interfere" in Mexican politics. Americans have actually been deported from Mexico for marching in demonstrations. yet if America did that to Mexican immigrants we'd be called racists, etc. oh the hypocrisy.

Do you know how many seniors I talk to who are retiring to Mexico? Many. Why, to try to live cheaply or near the beach or get a home cheap or land cheap. How ridiculous is that?

I know Americans investing in Mexico, land and homes. Many are building homes near beaches since here they can not afford to do so. They are happy and believe it will be wonderful. I dont think it is so easy. Here is what I have found out:

The Mexicans only seem to help the Mexicans so try living there.

The Mexican Government can take your property or home at any time without compensation. It happens.

The Mexicans try to get money from the dumb Americans who move there, any way they can. It happens.

The Americans live in fear once they realize others want what they have. Theft is rampant. You would have to stay at home all day every day to protect it and your belongings.

It is not so easy to buy from Mexicans. You will always pay more that the locals so get used to it.

The Mexicans only help the Mexicans, you are an outsider there.

Realize it will be hard to get healthcare, your social security check, and bank help there. They do things differently.

You will be considered a Rich White American no matter where you go. Get used to it.

Still want to retire to Mexico. I am sure you will be back good and broke in less than a year.

Did that really happen? That's hilarious! Although, they do have every right to do that; we should enforce the same rules here.
