I don't know how I can stand out from other men. I am sure if I approach girls, they have already met guys who are better looking, wealthier, and more athletic. What can I do to improve my chances?

YOU NEED TO HAVE CONFIDANCE IN YOURSELF! first of all and there is someone out there for everyone. not every girl is going to like you but just put yourself out there! its not about how many times someone gets asked out its about who's whose type.

I'm not sure if your objective is casual sex, temporary monogamy, or marriage, but if it is the second or third, athleticism will not matter at all, wealth will matter only a little, and looks do matter, but can be overcome. The important thing is to be friendly and well-mannered. Just being honest and open will make you more interesting than most. Most people are so dishonest that honesty has become a refreshing quirk. Also, never be pushy. It is the biggest turn-off. If a woman says "no," and you persist (I don't mean in a violent way, which of course you would not do, but just by being a nuisance), she will go out of her way to avoid you.
I like the idea of becoming friends first. Under my system, you would not be "approaching" women with any romantic or sexual purpose. You would only do this with women you have known for some time. However, I understand that I am in the minority here, and my advice should work even if you are approaching women you barely know.

To answer your question, what chance do you have??? YOU HAVE ALL THE CHANCE IN THE WORLD! Every person has different ideals of the perfect person for them. Some may like hunks while some of them likes geeks. Some guys like babes whereas some prefer the most quiet type. Who knows, you might be her guy. You'll never know your chances until you approach her.
Now, what can you do to improve your chances? Maybe, before you approach her, do some research, what are her usual activities. Catch her in her best mood and start a conversation on a topic that interests her.
Just do it! You'll never know until you do.

Well, since I am a girl, I know that I like it when guys are funny. Not mean funny, not making fun of someone because that is mean. But Funny. I also like it when I can talk to a guy who is mature, and I can actually have a real conversation with them. Something other then girls boobs, or sex. A relationship shoud be something great, something more then body parts and stuff. A guy should be sensitive. Try practicing sensitivity. Girls aren't ALWAYS attracted to cute guys.
