He has constantly wanted to increase the size and power of the military. In his head he still believes that the U.S. can turn Iraq into into another buddy of ours and all we need to do that is to send more troops over there to put the country into submission. He doesn't realize that our presence right now isn't welcomed and if we increased our presence it would only make the people of Iraq detest us even more.
And it is very very likely that he is so interested in having the people of Iraq as our friend because he wants their oil. Just remember that the Bush family has been in the oil industry their entire lives and does it really shouldn't surprise people that they would continue to be heavily interested in the global oil industry.

Sounds like you are a liberal. You sound off with Bush-hater mantra as well as anti-military garbage. Have you ever been to Iraq? If you have not then maybe you should go and ask the troops how THEY feel. Do you know that WMDs were found? I know because I was there. TWICE.

The only way to increase the US Military is to offer the prospective new soldiers huge sign up bonuses or use the draft.
Now which is it going to be. Probably the draft as our government has no surplus and is already BILLIONS in dept (because of this war).
That means many of you young folks will be suiting up and shipping out.

how exactly does he plan on increasing the military? why does he need more people in the military to fight an enemy that uses small groups of people instead of large forces? Seems like you would need to increase the militarys effectiveness not its size...

Hey everyone knows he is planning to send more troops to Iraq and just watch for a draft to be institute very soon. they can't get many more volunteers for the army or the marines
