they live in the same state as i am in at least they did 20 years ago...how could I locate them free of charge...I have tryed all the online searches with no luck

Call your local library. Many libraries subscribe to online databases called AncestryLibrary and Reference USA. I've found lots of "missing" people for our patrons. Whether or not they actually wanted to be "found," is, of course, another story.

try whitepages.com and look up thier phone number. Be sure to look in every state. I did this and found my grandparents. Good luck!!

Have you tried zabasearch? It usually finds what other search engines can't.

Have you looked in the closet? Once I lost some shoes and couldn't find them and they turned up in the closet. I would start there and fan out.
