i was wondering becuase i am writing a story and i don't want to be super clichè (sp?)

if there isn't one i could make the story around something else. any suggestions? something that would cause a person to try and escape an institution?

oh yeah and if i am being offensive...i'm sorry.

Schizophrenia is what you're looking for....now called bi-polar disorder.....there are many levels of this disorder. The affected are usually intelligent enough to manipulate their own outcome...therefore can behave normally to achieve the desired outcome....and often use backouts as a means to an end. The underlying give-away is a basic personality disorder.....These are multiple, and varied....look into personality disorders on Google for a full research for direction in your story line....

I'm anemic. Severely anemic. I used to lose chunks of time from my day because I was getting a lack of oxygen to my brain. It was scary to be in my car and wondering how I got some where I didn't remember driving to or seeing the dishes done and not remembering doing them. But now I'm on iron pills and I don't have these black outs anymore!

multiple personality is an old name for the disorder. the comman term for it now is dissociative identity disorder. im doing a 12 page paper on it in psych. and from what youve said there no it sounds like DID because of how you said "lose time". like 95% of people diagnosed with it describe there symptoms as "losing time that goes beyond normal forgetfullness". go with DID.
