Watch what she eats, and keep up her exercising routines. It's better she looses the weight slowly. It's said if you loose weight fast, its only water not fat.

It is really good that you are concerned now, early, before it can get worse. If you look at all the answers to your question, no matter what age, what background, the common theme everyone understands is diet. Diet makes up over 60% of a fitness program. You can do all the exercise you want but if you aren't following it up with proper diet and supplements, it wont work. Cardio and swimming are good ways to burn calories because weight LOSS is about burning more calories daily than you take in. If you monitor your daughters food intake, space out her meals so she constantly burns calories through digestion, keeps being active, and incorporating some resistance training into her life it will work. You burn calories longer doing resistance training than cardio so make sure she does her cardio, followed by resistance training, maybe incorporating a fat burner into the program and watching her DIET you will see results. No cheating! No shortcuts! No skipping meals! Skipping meals puts your body in a catabolic state-it will store food because it thinks it will starve!! Be strict, stay away from soda, it is bad for you anyways, and watch the food!! You can always go to a local gym and talk to a personal trainer. They are professional and they know what they are doing. They have changed a lot of lives and are worth the money. You can't go wrong with professional help. Good luck and Happy Holidays!!

Im not an expert or anything but I would suggest along with the crunches, she could tighten her stomach muscles when walking around as well as doing exercies. Also eating six small meals a day, drinking water also helps. Keep in mind if she hasn't been exercising alot already it may take a while about a month or so for her to start losing actually weight before losing the water weight. I hope I helped.

you mention the exericise but nothing about diet. Without a good healthy diet all the exercise in the world will do no good. I think most said it try a good healthy low fat diet, eating lots of good fruits and veggies.
If she only (like most kids) likes one or two veggies find new ways to prepare them!! Recipe search on allrecipes.com or make a pact to try one new veggie a week. Good way to do this is see whats on sale at the store, find a recipe and viola' you may just have a new veggie you like. If you still eating fast food, fried food etc...forget about it. If you are a regular at the drive thru then along w/the one new veggie a week pact....make an agreement on one trip to fast food a week. THat is it. That w/the exercise I can't see why she wouldn't tone up. Also get rid of sodas some ppl alone consume all the calories they SHOULD have in a day drinking soda. If it's hard at first go to diet but you really should just drink water, if your serious.
Good luck, I think it's great that you are commited to help her, and with your help she should be able to succed!!

A healthy diet and exercise are the healthiest paths to weight loss and body toning. Try consulting with a nutritionist if she is already exercising regularly. Also, when you sign up with a gym, most of the good ones give you a series of free sessions with a personal trainer. That can really help as well. I find it easier to get into an exercise routine that involves group activities such as Step-Aerobics, Spinning, and Cardio Kick Boxing.

those diets based on the glycemic index are awesome. i'm about the same height. a little extra weight makes a petite woman look a little fuller figured than a taller girl the same weight. i loosely used one of these diets to get me back to my pre-baby weight. it's really easy. there's no cutting carbs and all that junk. you just choose smarter carbs. a few simple changes gives good results. i switched to whole grains, used splenda occasionally (i still like my real sugar) and ate a little more fruit. beyond that, i ate what i wanted. that will help drop a few pounds and those cheesy 8 minute ab dvd's really DO help pull in your belly. the main thing is that she loses weight because SHE wants to do it and that she does it in a healthy, sensible way. otherwise, she's going to be unhappy and frustrated. hope this helps. good luck!

Your daughter needs to change her eating habit. to get quick result on the big belly go on diet for at least 8 weeks . cut all carbs, trans fat which means no cookies, butter, fried food, etc. give her some salad when ever feels hungry or fruit.
try this sample diet plan

BREAKFAST 1 packet instant oatmeal with 1/2 cup 2% milk, 2 tablespoons wheat germ; 1/2 cantaloupe; coffee or tea

LUNCH 1 can white tuna in water, rinsed and drained; 1 cup lettuce, 2 artichoke hearts, 1/2 cup tomatoes, 1 teaspoon capers, 1/2 cup cucumber, 1/2 red bell pepper, 2 tablespoons low-cal dressing; 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese

DINNER 4 ounces grilled chicken; 1 cup mixed greens, 2 artichoke hearts, 2 tablespoons low-cal dressing; 1 small baked potato, 1 teaspoon margarine; 1 pear
Good luck

Have you guys tryed diet pills? That might work, I know that some parents are not up to that but you can try in. keep up the crunches and running. Have you try other things to like danceing dieting, sit ups going to the gym, stop eating at the fast food places? If none of these things don't work then the last thing that i can say is go have liposuction, maybe if she really wants it that bad then she can help pay for some of it. Thats all i can say. If you would please e-mail me back and tell me if you are going to try some of thoes that would be most helpful. sosemt2000@yahoo.com

The best advice I can tell you is for her to avoid all junk food and carbonated drinks that are not diet. Then she needs to make her regular food portions smaller. She'll lose weight slowley and safely, and be able to keep it off....provided that she continues to be active and stays strictly on this plan. She (and you) need to understand that this is going to have to be a lifestyle change, anything that is not permanent will cause her to gain her weight right back. Best of luck to you and her.
