Cladding will most likely not rectify your situation. The door is probably not insulated, which is why it transfers the cold and sound pretty easily. Depending on where you live, you may wish to replace. Good luck.

Sounds like the door is not insulated, replacing it is your best bet. Never heard of cladding a steel door, probably would look awful even if theres a way to do it...

It needs to be replaced. There is no way to cover or "CLAD" it. There are a number of steel doors today that are insulated. These are safe and great insulators! I imagine I would check at the nearest Lowes or Lumber yard and get their opinion of the best door to buy! Have a great holiday!

u cant clad it.......replace it with a therm-a-tru door and unit..fiberglass door with 50 yr warranty, will not peel, crack, chip, warp, bow anything but work a long time.......all we use in our houses and never had a call back in 15 yrs since they cam out with them......
