well first just like every gun type you need to find out what fits you best. go check some out ,gun shop ,pawn shop, gunshow....once you find out what fits, know what you cash limit is. pawn shops are good but not always the cheapest. find out what the real value is and always try to buy used it will save you alot when you find the right deal. caliber will depend on what type of shooting you will be doing and how strong you are. find the pro at your range he or she can help. drop me a line if you need more info..............

Try your local gunsmith. We get stuck with all kinds of guns.9mm is a popular piece and we get more then our share of them.
People will bring them in and they end up collecting dust. we call the owner and they don't want to pay for the repairs or drive across country to get them. Until I got so involved with ranching and dropped my FFL ( I got busy and forgot) I would end up with at least thirty extra guns every hunting season. Believe me, the ranch is more than enough to do, so I'm not smithing anymore. Unless it's for a friend.
All most smiths want is what they put into the gun and that bit extra to help feed the kids. You can pick up a taurus nine mm for 45 bucks. And it's a legal sale.

gunbroker.com is like the eBay for guns and you can find real cheap handguns on there. You will want to check out your local state laws, however, regarding firearm purchases before you use this website.

True I have visited gunbroker.com and they have a good selection but, however they require a credit card from people who have a yahoo email address before you get registered on there to make a bid on something because they don't feel yahoo is secure enough.Where in heavens name do they get this stuff I don't know since there the only ones like that I know.
Personally I think it's to hold onto to bleed you dry latter others will argue since they like that,I'm sure.

Try a HI-Point 9MM. These guns are American made and carry a lifetime guarantee. I have one and have never had a problem. They can be had from around $125.00 and up depending on the dealer. That's new not used!

Also, your local gun shops might have some nice trade ins they will sell at a reduced rate.

Another place would be for you to check into when your next local gunshow will be.

Corner of Crenshaw and Normandie in Los Angeles or McArthur park, also in Los Angeles.
You can buy just about anything you want in either location!
