I just asked Yahoo Answers. Here was one response "Sadly yes. Especially if they get wrapped in the cord (my nephew Charlie was still-born for this reason.)."

So, I'll ask again... where was God then and why didn't he prevent it? and It has NOTHING to do with free will or the devil, apparently.

Things happen to us that really suck, they hurt so bad we think we might die but God is there...it's up to you to accept that he does everything for a reason and although we hate it, sometimes what we want isn't meant to be!

It's a test of faith.
It's God's plan.
The baby is in a better place.

Sorry, when there's loss that's that deep and traumatic, those 3 answers just don't cut it.

God is still God, but you get to figure out your own answers to this one. My answer was that I wasn't as worthy as I might've thought I was, and I didn't know God like I thought I did. He gets to do what he wants with his universe, and I have nothing to say about how he handles things.

this is part of the reason that i follow the Celtic Gods, they do not claim to control everything.

i agree with you, for a god that claims to control everything to the point f knowing it will happen before it happens and to still allow things like this to happen is ridiculous. and people that simply claim that we are not meant to understand is again ridiculous.

if a loving god controlled everything then there would be no evil, and no pain in the world.

i do not believe that a world without evil and pain can or ever will exist. therefore i do not believe in any single all powerful god of love and peace.

Your Right!

Look at it this way - if a person saw a child who was strangling to death and that person could easily save the child but instead choose to let the child "work out their own destiny" - what would we say about such a person?

And if it is wrong for a person to do it then does God live by the same ABSOLUTE STANDARDS OF MORALITY OR NOT ???

Good question

We live in a fallen world. We are in a shooting war, and we are behind enemy lines. Since when do little babies not die in war zones? It is a shame when it happens, but we do know that that little one is safe at home, and out of this war we are fighting.
Soon, it will be over, and we can all go home...and God will wipe away all our tears.
It will be worth it.

I am sorry for your loss. Believe me, I do know what it is like, having buried three grandsons of my own...one an unexplained crib death, and the other two from some genetic disorder passed from mother to son...in other words all boy babies my son might have had with this woman (they are no longer together) would have died. I also have an eight year old grand daughter who was born with a serious heart defect and not expected to live out her first year...to us, every year she is with us is a miracle.
My heart goes out to the family of the little one who died. My thoughts and my prayers are with you.

God does not get involved. Why are children allowed to be raped and murdered? Why is any unwanted child born? Why did 9/11 happen? Why is there SDS?

Is that even legal to ask a question twice? Then I'll answer my answer twice too.
If the baby mom is a servant of God then it's for the glory of God if not then God has anything to do with that. You might consider asking that to satan.
1 john 5:19- We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

apparently... but then again our knowlege of things is limited... we simply don't know... there could be a million and 1 reasons... maybe it was to spare the child from a greater pain in his potential future...

Funny how God is responsible for the bad things that happen but when it comes to the good things he doesn't exist

God has the answer - I will not speak for God. You have seen the answers to your questions all night, why ask over and over?

suffering and death entered the world when man voluntarily rebelled against God. to this day, we face the consequences of sin. god has a plan, he works everything for a reason and for the best, you must trust in god and he will bless you>
