To appease the people with the "facts" yes all living animals shed.
That being said, some shed so little that you and I would consider them not to shed...I don't call myself shedding, do you?
Whens the last time you cleaned up those dead skin cells on your kitchen floor?
I have a Yorkshire Terrier, my understanding is they do not have undercoats and this is why they don't shed. The only hair I ever get off him is when I bathe him then brush him with a wire brush. There are other breeds that have the same type of coat and some called "hairless".

All dog shed to a certain extent. But there are breeds that shed less than others, like Afghan Hounds, Poodles, Maltese, Yorkies, and Bichon Frises.

Yes, all dogs shed. Dogs, today do not get to run in the woods and wilderness to drag the hair off their bodies. If you have inside dogs you should brush them at least twice a week. If they are long hair dogs you probably need to brush them more.

It all depends on what you call shedding. All creatures that have hair shed, it is part of the normal hair growth pattern. Even humans shed hair daily.

There may be some dog breeds that lose hair/fur at different rates and in different ways.

ANYONE that says there are some breeds that do NOT shed are total MORONS. ANYTHING with fur, hair, skin, feathers....ALL SHED. Humans shed hair and skin cells DAILY!!! It is often the actual skin cell that are shed that people are allergic to. There are breeds that shed LESS than others, but don't be fooled into thinking that there are breeds that DO NOT shed.

Schnauzers are considered to be low or no shed dogs. I have 6 of them and they do not shed, but they do have to be groomed evrey 6-8 weeks.

This is a list of hypoallergenic (non shedding) dogs hope you find it helpful

i myself have a shih tzu.. love her to death..and the only time she loses any hair at all is if she happens to have a mat and it comes off and you might find a lil wad of hair..but as far as shedding she does not....of course you have to give them a good diet and healthy environment as well.
