No, it's probably just a sore throat. You just inhaled to much cold air. I do that a lot, too. But just in case...

Symptoms
The main symptom of tonsillitis is a sore throat. Additional symptoms occur in most cases. Some or all of the following may be present:

Fever
Bad breath
Nasal congestion and runny nose
Swollen lymph nodes
Red, swollen tonsils covered completely or in patches by pus
Difficulty swallowing
Headache
Abdominal pain
Raw, bleeding patches on the tonsils
Visible growth of bacteria on the tonsils
When sore throat is accompanied by coldlike symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and coughing, the cause is most likely a virus. Viral infection of the tonsils usually goes away without treatment within 2 weeks.

Sore throat with a sudden fever above 101° (38.3°)—milder fever may indicate a viral infection—and swollen lymph nodes may indicate a bacterial infection. Anyone with these symptoms should see a health professional for diagnosis because of the risk of strep throat. Although strep throat will usually go away even without treatment, an untreated strep infection can lead to complications including rheumatic fever, which can permanently damage the heart.

hot tea nothing that will build mucus like juice. If it is constant see a doctor you may have other problems. I had sore throats everyday it got to the point to where I couldnt talk.Turns out I had bad heart burn and there was an ulsar in my throat. Took meds healed up and happy. See a nose and throat doctor not your reg physician

Tonsilitis usually is a repetitive thing, if you have many sore throats then you should see a doctor. However if you have been outside in the cold a lot you may just have picked up a head cold. Or maybe perhaps just some late season allergies. Try an OTC and see if that helps in a few days if not go see a doctor anyway.

No, it may not be anything really serious. Recently, I suddenly got a horribly sore throat, and it turned into some sort of virus that left after 3 days. There are lots of various viral bugs, colds, and flues hovering about in the air during this time of year, and odds are that you have contracted one of them. Just drink plenty of tea and relax a little if you can, and you'll be fine. I hope you get better soon!

You are very funny! ho ho ho

Maybe something like I heard about.... Rudolf the Strep-throat Reindeer-- his throat was so inflamed that they didn't need to scope it to see it shining red!

p.s., if you really have a sore throat, try the Lion: sit comfortably on your knees, breathe in, roll your eyes back as far as they will go and shoot your tongue out as far as it will go, and then roar like a lion. Repeat. Merry Christmas!

Try some tea with honey and lemon and see if that soothes your sore throat before worrying too much!

My best advice is to gargle with warm salt water and take meds. just for a sore thoat. Hope you feel better. Plus, plenty of rest never hurts anybody who is sick.

No, it's just all of the dust. Just take an easy and if it get's worse then go to a doctor. The same thing happens to me.
