I think religion is a class all it's own, not a social class. Social class is for movie stars, bankers and rich people. Religious people usually hang around more with other religious people because they have something in common same as other people. I don't hang around with drunks because I'm not a drinker and usually don't have much in common. People don't hang around with me cause I smoke so, people are people and hang around with people in which they have common factors.

Social class and religion goes hand in hand? I am not aware of any social class which is being dictated as of current. Eg: There is no aristocratic class and peasants class like in the past. So if you are actually refering to classes people who consider themselves as having, then that is a totally different matter. Social class and religion in that sense doesnt go hand in hand. I went to churches and temples and what i see is that there is a huge social strata in every places of worship.

Seldom do i see a place of worship dominated by a whole bunch of like minded individuals *ie people of the same social strata class* because if that happens, then there would be no tragic testimonials to tell, would there? *if the church is filled with rich people for example*

Look back to the Estates General, in France. One of the Estates was the Church. Also, looking to the Near, Middle, and Far East, we see cultures, where regious organizations even dictate law, still. In some ways this is still mirrored, here in the West, but not to the same extent. In the ancient world mid-wifery was one of the things possesed of the witches of the Old Religion. Human history is extremely steeped in religion.

I would hope not, then all the fundamentalists could justify their claims that their beliefs are superior to other religions and atheists.
