Okay I have VERY dark brown hair naturally, and I've already been doing lighter brown highlights for a long time, but i'm getting sick of it.

i have a medium skin tone but its on the light side, and brown eyes. I also think my skin might have warm/yellow undertones but im not really sure how to judge that.

anyway..im really sick of my hair and i've been thinking about dyeing it a dark reddish brown, like an auburn. For 2 years i've held back on getting bangs because i didn't want to be a "follower" [it seemed like practically everyone was getting bangs] but recently i've really wanted them because i'd be able to do way more with my hair

my friend thinks the reddish brown/chesnut/auburn hair would look bad on me because of my skin tone, which gave me doubts.

so...should i or not? and also should i get bangs or not?

your skin color sounds like a version of my skin color and i have auburn hair naturally so this could work for you! i would personally go into a hair stylist though and just ask then if it would look good...they are trained to eyeball that kind of stuff.

I say, go for it!

A reddish brown will look natural with almost any skin tone, especially a light pink undertone... but don't stress about it, because it sounds like an auburn would be close to your natural haircolor, anyways.

If you've been thinking about bangs for a long time, then I'd also reccomend you get them as well. When you want them out of the way, pull them directly back over your part and secure with a clip, letting them rise up a little into a small arc... it is a great touch for any style. If you want to let them grow out, get them cut to frame your face in layers while you wait.

Best wishes for your new style! :)

P.S. If you are still unsure after all the answers posted here, go ahead and ask your stylist... it is NOT a stupid question and s/he is trained to know what will work for you.

on the bangs thing if you do get em make sure u keep em on the longish side and speaking of side make sure u part your hair on the side for the bangs to hang down framing your face that would look good and for the auburn i vote yes if u dont like it hey it's just hair and it will either grow back out or u can grow the color off hair is hair know what i mean??

RE: bangs, I think it depends on your age and shape of your face. My face is squarish and I have bangs. As far as the color, I too had dark brown and dark brown eyes, I colored it to medium ash brown. Could you go to a beautician who might have a computer analysis program, and see how you would look, w/bangs and the hair color you suggested? Good Luck!

Don't let your friends tell what to do. Color your hair and get the bangs. That's if you really want to do it. Just go with your heart.

Just do whatever you want to do. It doesn't matter what other people think, if you like it, then thats all the matters, im not good with colors, but the bangs, it depends if you have a round face or narrow face. but do whatever you want.

Hair coloring can be damaging to your hair if done too often. Let your hair grow into its natural color (EVEN IF it is a bit grey).

Trust me, personality is more importiant than looks.
