Read the Dharma. Study and practice its teachings and techniques which help a person calm down in their thoughts, and live with a very peaceful sound mind.

Read Anything by Jon Kabat-Zinn
A good book to get started with is called
"Coming to Our Senses".

Another good author is Thubten Chodron.
She has an Excellent book out called:
"Working with Anger" which teaches wholesome healthy alternatives to anger, anxiety, depression, greed, and selfish cravings which often lead to our own sufferings and pain in life.
The Dharma, and these authors (which base there literature and teachings/techniques on the Dharma) has been proven to be very effective by Doctors and Cognitive Behavioral Therapists throughout the entire world.

A very successful technique taught in the book
"Coming to Our Senses'" by Jon Kabat-Zinn
is Mindfulness Meditation, which is very similiar to the mindfulness of breathing. This technique has been proven to increase a person's cognitive thinking skills so they will think properly with a sound, well disciplined mind. It also produces better concentration and focus and improves a person memory. It produces very healthy wholesome successful relationships as well !! "Mindfulness
Meditation produces peace and happiness, which one is able to share with all of mankind."

From an R.N. - with a Master's Degree who honestly cares about you.

Be very patient with yourself, always forgiving yourself for any past mistakes, and future mistakes. Demonstrate loving-kindness toward yourself, and then you will successfully demonstrate it toward others in life.

You asked a Very Good Question. Be very proud of yourself. And Happy Holidays.

get paper and pen. write down everything that is spinning around up there. get it out of your head and onto the paper. then wait a little while, just breathe a few. now go back to your paper take a hard look and begin to organize all these thoughts you've been having. now with your new organized list take a new sheet of paper and jot down anything(changes in your life only you can make) you can think of or do that will bring you resolution to your issues. remember "it ain't nothing but a thing" "this too shall pass" Breathe!!!!!

Try yoga --- yoga teaches you breathing techniques that can help you to calm down.

If you can take a class, that would be great. Otherwise, find a book or check online for some things you can do.
