For Christians only please......?
Can demons attack Christians in their sleep? This has happened to me on several occasions. I feel like there is something sitting on me. Like it won't let me move. I scream out and it won't let me move. When I call out to God, that's when I eventually wake up. I prayed last night. Really prayed. I had a good time in prayer with God, thanking him for all he's done for me and his greatness. Then last night I had the dream that I mentioned above. It's like this thing was sitting on me but I couldn't see it. Like it was jabbing at me. What does this mean? Why would God let this happen to me? I need some answers please. :(

It could easily be sleep apnea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_apnia

You could also suffer from sleep paralysis like Alex suggested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

I have had similar dreams, I once had a demon pushing me face down into my pillow. I also had another dream where a demon grabbed me, but I called out, Jesus help me, and in an instant I woke up. I have known other Christians that had dreams like this also. I started praying and asking that I wouldn't have dreams like this. I also have prayed out loud at night in my bed. A prayer like this," I am a child of God, I'm covered by the blood of Jesus Christ, I command you Satan and all your demons to leave me alone in the name of Jesus Christ". This must have worked, because I have never had anymore dreams like this.

I think Satan and his demons will try anything they can to us, if they aren't having much success trying to make us fall while we are awake, then they try in our sleep.

They hate us, and if they could, they would kill us. The great news is that they are powerless because of Jesus Christ being our Lord.

I read your other post, and sounds like you are having a hard time with some things in your life. I have been a Christian for 34 years, and still God is working with me, and I know for a fact he never gives up on us. The best advice I can give you is study the Bible, know it inside out, get God's word into you. Pray and make Jesus Christ your best friend, tell him everything, he already knows everything about you anyway. Tell him your problems, ask for help overcoming them. Rejoice in the Lord, sing Christian songs. I wake up and say, "this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it". I will be praying for you, remember to thank the Lord for everything.

Christians cannot be possessed or attacked (physically) by demons. Demons are non-caporal which means they do not have bodies. They are limited to the spiritual realm since they are spirits. Luke 24:39 says "[Jesus talking] Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”

Also if you are a Christian then your body is a temple to the Holy Spirit. In spite of what others may say, a Christian cannot be possessed by a spirit physically. If you are God's then His Holy Spirit is in you.

Your problem may be physical. There is a sleep disorder in which the mind wakes but the body is still asleep. I know a man who suffers from this condition. He says he will wake up and cannot move at all. He sometimes must lay there for minutes at a time before he can actually move.

My suggestion is see your physician and explain your nightmares or discuss whether you may have this sleep disorder. Continue to pray.

Yes angels and demons are real

I've had similar experiences

I was watching tv the other night, they were talking about that very thing, about people who feel like they cant move for like a few seconds to a minute or so.

I dont know, stay strong in prayer, eventually God will provide the answer to your problem.

Honey, what you are talking a/b is very close if not a possesion. Also God isn't letting this happen to you. You must be either an awesome Christian or maybe ready to start spreading his word. In other words Satan sees you as a threat. He has sent his demons to you to turn you from God. God will never put forth a mountain you can't climb, in other words God's believes you have the strength to overcome Satans demons. Stay strong in your faith! With faith the size of mustard seeds you can move mountains! So don't stop believing that God can save you, from this torture. God bless and you are in my prayers!

Yes, the evil lurks all around us.... hiding in corners, underneath bushes, etc. You need to put on the FULL ARMOR of God... Eph 6:10-20.

At night, turn on a radio with Christian music playing and open your Bible to the 23rd Psalm. Keep the music playing throughout the night. The sound of Jesus name, those demons must flee. They don't stay around when the presence of the Spirit is there.

Why are you blaming God? In life all walks of it there are lessons to be taken from them. Maybe there's something YOU have done that has caused this to come rearing it's face before you. hmmmmmmmm

Satan could be having this done to you.

Recall Job?

There could be something in your walk that you have come against and in so this person, demon, whatever you want to label it... has come against you in your dreams. Do as I said above... and truly trust in the Lord.

Will keep you in prayer!!!

God bless you!

You have done what you needed - You have exercised authority over this deamon in the name of God and Jesus - Continue to do that.

Why would God let any bad happen - to refine, purify, strengthen. Practice makes perfect - practice in acting like a Christian makes perfect.

step up the counter attack - you are praying - next fast, get friends to join you in strengthening you. As Peter and John said in acts " We rejoiced being worthy to be flogged in the name of Jesus

Yes, You have to remember that when Jesus left this earth he gave us all power over demons and demonic spirits. You just have to began to exercise the power that God has given you. The Bible says that " No weapon formed against us will prosper. And God also so said that I am not a man that I should lie. So that means that nothing the devil tries to through at you will work. If you what to talk more about how to overcome the demonic just IM me or shot me and email and I'll be glad to help. May God keep you and bless you always.
