i probably shouldn't be saying this so as not to jinx anything but.... other then luggage being delayed (because i was late checking in) i ONLY fly northwest. they are the only airline tha can pressurize the plane properly so i'm not rolling in agony.

i'm really sorry you had a bad flight. i fly routinely into detroit/jacksonville florida and occasionally cinncinatti and other locations. i have had some other challenges but they were weather or problems with other airports/airlines and i can't fault them for that. once we had to wait a few hours because of deicing - but i'd rather be safe then sorry.

ive flown northwest on two occasions, one from london gatwick to detriot, we taxied to the runway and the pilot started to charge down the runway then for some reason slowed down and then came back around to the original gate, then we were told that there was a problem with the water pressure on board.....

waited for 2 hours, wasnt allowed to get off the plane, no snacks given out. after taking off late flight was ok, service was alright.

2nd time i flew was detroit to jfk, delays due to 'gate congestion' whatever that meant so we were at the gate and there was a united plane where a northwest plane should have been, later found out that the united plane came to the wrong terminal!!....very bizzare!

I travel by air 40 weeks a year.
Northwest is one of my LAST choices - if I have a choice.

Worst website to negotiate. Worst to try and change a flight booked online.
If you have a credit from a changed flight - they will not tell you unless you take them by the throat and choke them.

BUT - sometimes they have the best fare by $50 or $100.

Northwest Airline does suck. Big time. We were stuck on a run-way in Detroit for five hours one night, waiting for a forty-five minute flight to Minni. The folks in front of us asked the stewardess for a snack for their kid and the stewardess told them it was up to parents to come prepared (as if any parent would prepare for five hours on the run-way). Yup, they suck.

Well, it's my favorite airline, so you might just have had a bad experience. I prefer flying with them whenever I can and when seats are available for reasonable fares. ( means what I can afford. )
