When I do the inviting I just plan to pay no matter the sex of the friend. Most of my friends insist on at least paying their part ultimately, but I always just assume I'll be paying that way I'm prepared and budgeted.

yes, otherwise go somewhere and eat alone, when u ask a lady out it's your choice and your initiative and that is the way a gentlemen behave.
No one likes a cheapo.
