.....Some Christians in the U.S.A, sing the American national anthem in Church? & have American flags waving in front of there? Don't they know it's in insult to Non-Americans? It's like saying Jesus is American, I thought he was suppose to be *international*...Or I'm I wrong?....

I've never sung the national anthem in church, but I don't see what is wrong with having an American flag on the flagpole. I also wouldn't have a problem with a French church having the French flag, a German Church having the German Flag, or a Russian Church having a Russian Flag. Each country wouldn't be claiming Christ was a citizen of their country, but showing that they support their nation. There is nothing wrong with loving the nation to which you were born, and demonstrating that love by putting up your flag. You might be a little oversensitive on the matter.

Have you ever heard the next verses of the National Anthem??

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

American's have the right to honor their country in any place they wish to. The same should be said of religion but it isn't. However, if a non american is in the congregation, they should simply go home or be respectfully silent for the singing of the national anthem wherever it is sung.

We sing the national anthem around independence day in church (no waving flags inside the chapel though)...but that's with the understanding that in congregations around the world they also sing the national anthem for whatever country they're in around their national holiday.

I think you are overboard on this- I really think it is just americans who are proud to live in America. America is a country of freedom, and free to worship and study the Bible! In no way is anyone saying Jesus was American....that is a pointless controversary people get into it...and to be honest, Jesus was born in Israel....so therefore He was not American. But that is NOT the point, don't you see? People who were born in the USA and live here, are just expressing their gratitude of where they live and support for their country. Nothing wrong with that.

no, they're just celebrating nationalism along with their religion. Jesus really isn't American....
and the flags i guess would simply mean the church supports America, not America supports the church
just my thoughts!

How is that saying Jesus is American? It's called being patriotic. Man now you're starting to sound like the people that wanna take Merry Christmas down and only put up Happy Holidays.

Your wrong... the flag symbolizes the pride in our nation and it's religious heritage...

it shouldn't be an insult to non-Americans because this is America... DUH... We fly the flag of the USA because this is the USA... i don't know how to explain it any clearer... We can't possibly fly every single flag that exists just to avoid insulting someone...

Why do people from other countries come to America and expect America to turn into the country they came from... other countries don't put up the American flag for Americans...

If you watch the people who see the Pope, they wave their country's flag. It is not to send a message " We are the best!", like when you wave a sports team's pennant. Instead it is a message to God : "Our country is in Your Hands!" Singing about the country is a way to thank Him for our freedoms and a prayer that He will continue to bless us.

You are wrong. Christianity incorporates patriotism into the church so we are just being patriotic and would encourage you to do the same in your country.
