You forget the basic concept of faith again. Christians are not asking YOU to prove there is a GOD. You have to prove to us there is not one...and evolution and the big bang are not proof since many of us believe in them as well. Bad things happening are not proof as we know bad things happen to good Christians and God never promised they would not. Sins do not prove it as we are all sinners. Sorry.

GOD BLESS YOU

Yes. I agree with you. As a Christian Gnostic I have a need to ask questions and get answers. I need to know the who, what, where, how and why of everything. So when I ask most Christians a question and they answer with "Because the Bible says so" or something like that I get very frustrated.
I have read the Bible many times and though I find that it has some good teachings, I also find that it is full of contradictions! How can we completely trust in a book that has been translated and re-translated a thousand times, added to and subracted from and rearranged? The books of the Bible may very well have been written by prophets, but it was put together by churches who picked and choosed what they wanted to be included! After all this, how can anyone be sure that what we read in the Bible is God's unaltered word? So yes. This frustrates me a great deal.

No, what I do find frustrating is the hateful things people say on here about Christians. However, I have no problem with atheists or others that remain polite even though they have a differing opinion.
Some Christians are educated some are not, same as some atheist are and some are not. In any faith or belief or non-belief there are people with varying degrees of intelligence. That is life!
There is no absolute PHYSICAL proof that God exists that you would find acceptable however there is no proof that God does NOT exist.

Yes, and I AM a Christian. There are many other ways to prove things than just using the bible as proof.

However, the bible IS the word of God to Christians, and so there is no better proof to us. (But I understand if you are not a Christian, then it is nothing)

** I must ask though - Would you consider it "Proof" if I took out a history book and told you something about ancient times? Because it was written down... and its in a History book... does that make it true? **

Just my 2cents.

You wrestle with the scriptures to your damnation, Mr. Learned Individual. You should get with bcmunkee and compare notes. He has mocked God and tried to belittle Christians over 550 times. Out of 600 questions. And he claims to have a life? How about you? Trying to disprove the Bible make you feel like you have purpose? What a pathetic couple the two of you make. Why don't the two of you go to the gay, lesbian, and transgendered page, have the what should I do retard pronounce the two of you man and wife? You could live happily ever after! I guess it is time to go. I am getting sarcastic, as well as disgusted . My apologies to everyone.

For those who believe in what the bible says that is all the empirical proof they need. If you are an atheist, then perhaps a science book would give you your empirical proof of evolution. To say that life around us is evidence of evolution would be no different than a Christian saying it is proof of God. Neither can disprove the other to the other's complete satisfaction.

If you require more proof, then ask someone else or research it yourself. If you're questioning the "truth" of the Bible, then expect some people to stop in their explanations with the word of the Bible. The Bible, and religion, are matters of FAITH, and not "proof". "Science" seeks "proof" and makes a number of deductions based off of evidence and theories.

People that are out to disprove religion are just as annoying as those that are out to convince others of it's existence.

Everyone desires clarity, no one likes ambiguous answers. Therefore when someone points to the Bible and says that there is no higher authority, then its comforting to many people that the truth is so easily found. When you can't find any clear answers, then its very simple to fall back on the word of God which, by definition, can't be wrong.

I have spent most of my life reading, studying, and reasoning with the writings of the Bible. And even though at the core of any apologetic arguement is the truth of the Scriptures, I do not use those words because they are meaningless to those who are not willing to accept the Word. those that resort to it tend to be those who have some knowledge of the Bible, but not enough to make a reasoned defense of what it says or explain it to those who hold the position that it is wrong.

Atheist easiest assert that there is not any reason the think of a god exist or to have self assurance that a god exist. Christians say athiest say "Atheists assert existence spontaneously generated from non-existence" whilst they are seeking to make strawman arguments. you need to element to no incident the place a atheist stated this. Atheist do no longer count upon how existence began to help their arguments on why their isn't any god.

YES, mostly because I try to apply reason and logic when I think opposed to their one word answers to all questions: god, jesus, bible, lord.

I am working on my 2nd four year degree= learned.

One source answers are usually always dangerous, I try to find the most on a subject then make conclusions from looking at multiple sources from multiple views. But what do I know, I haven't drank their Kool-Aid.
