Apple, before calling me uneducated, you should probably have read my question better.....
If you see someone still believing in Zeus, Thor, Ra, the Sun or Jupiter, maybe then I won't use the term "die out" okay?
But I do admit I don't know anything about "paganism"..Sorry if I left out your own gods....

All gods die. All civilizations collapse. All empires crumble. All species go extinct. Nothing makes the Christian or Muslim gods any different. Indeed the Christian god has been showing signs of falling apart for some time. Could get interesting.

Sister you ask a lot of good questions and I sure wish you lived in Oklahoma as I would love to have your family over to our house for diner and conversation.

I must say that, in my opinion, other gods died out because they had no basis in truth. As man grew up they began to understand what went bump in the night and quit attributing it to "gods." Also people prayed to them and received nothing...ever.

Christians, Jews, and Muslims have the same God, but each has vastly separate views on the subject. Each also deals with morality and choice and a view of the afterlife. These are all things man will always struggle with and when science and reason have finished blowing all of the air around something still nags in the back of ones mind. That nagging makes them believe Science and reason have not answered all the questions good enough, but these three faiths as well as a few more touch a core and feel right.

So, no they will not go too. But, they will be in a bitter struggle to the very end. While Jews are not as radical as the ones you mentioned, each is adamant they know the correct interpretation of "God's will."

Now, how can one decide? First, look at the Jews and Christians together as one says it is continuing what the first started. Judge for yourself everything in the OT and NT. If you feel the NT is a lie you should then compare Judaism and Muslim beliefs. But, if the NT seems right to you it is between Christianity and Muslim beliefs you should weigh out.

I believe you are doing just that and I feel confident that you will come to the right conclusion. If you have any more questions on myside shoot me an email and I will do my best to help you.

the other gods did not die out, the civilizations that worshiped them did. the gods are still there and will answer any sincere call to them.

in time the Christian empire wil fall, so too will Islam, and a new god will emerge. the earth is billions of years old with human religions streching back over 15,000 years. the christian god has only been hevaly worshiped for the last 1,500 of so. they feel invincible now, jsut as the Romans and the Greeks and the Celts did in their peak. but all things must come to an end. and one day the Christians and Muslims will be the minority and will be fighting for their ancient beliefs just as the Pagans are doing now.

Firstly, the Christian one and the Muslim one are the same -- they just call God by a different name. :) He has no beginning and no end, so I'm guessing He won't go.

Why did other gods die out? I'm not too sure but I think it has something to do with how people viewed life in general when they created (is this the right word for it?) their gods. I mean -- someone told me that the people who created the Norse gods were pessimistic because life was too hard so gave their gods an inevitable (and sad) end.

Abraham brought into effect the concept of one God which was adopted by his Jewish folk, then Christians, then Muslims. I can't ever see the world eliminating any notion of at least one God. As long as there are people on the planet, there will be people who believe there is some bigger force involved that created the whole thing.

Back with the crusaders they killed those who were non believers and pushed their beliefs to the point that the Europeans and others were to scared to believe in their gods and the christian god was pushed so hard that the non believers gave in.
The old gods are not dead as there are still people that believe. Too many people believe in the Christian god for it to die out.

There are more religions in the world than just Christianity and Islam. The God of Abraham (he's the same God for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) is not the only God worshiped these days. Many of those other Gods are still worshiped and revered by people today.

Always REMEMBER one thing that History teaches us:

It is ONLY the VICTORS who write History.

So, IF THERE IS or will be a much stronger and bigger Church Group --than the two largest Religious Organizations you mention-- in the world today that will "kill in the name of [THEIR KIND of] God" ... THEN you will find out WHY the other gods have died out in the course of human events.

Peace be with you.

The other gods died b/c they were fake and the belief systems that went with them were ridiculous.
Muslim is one of the most widely practiced religions so I doubt their god will go out
Christian- you have GOT to be kidding me, the Bible has sold more books than any other book in history, so no and besides God is real and He will always have His believers even though more and more people are deviating from Him I doubt it will ever go away b/c his presense in everywhere

I am not sure of what "gods" you are referring to dying out, but the one of the Jews, Christians and Muslims has withstood years of anger, bitterness and attack and is still going strong. Its not going to "die out" before you do.

GOD BLESS YOU
