I am always VERY nervous annout swim meets. I don't know why, but I always get very sad and depressed when it is about 2 1/2 weeks before the meet. I need help. How do I calm down, do good, and not worry about the swim race? HELP!

Through the 10 min. daily practice of

Mindfulness Meditation (which is simply being very mindful, paying close attention to oneself in the present moment during meditation) helps one deal very effectively with with anxiety, anger, impatience, and successfully helps one to calm down to be in a peaceful, stable state before any sport or any important event in life.
Jon Kabat-Zinn has an excellent book out for the beginner called, "Coming to our Senses"
Also do a search on your computer on the Mindfulness of Breathing. This will help you tremendously to be calm before a swim meet.

all that worry, nervous, depressed. is perfectly normal, all the other competitors are feeling the same way your are. trust me some of them possibly more than you.

why so down? be happy you have arms and legs to race with and your in good shape, you win all together

Have a practice - It relieves all your tension

if competion isnt for you, then dont do it..
