when you walk her (at least 30 minutes a day) try putting a pack on her back full of stuff appropriate for her weight so she feels she has a purpose and to drain her energy. when she is acting crazy completely ignore her. when she bites flick her on the nose fast so she doesnt see your hand and become afraid of it. only give her lovin's when she is being calm.

If the dog is very young, it doesn't know yet that biting hurts. Every time it bites you, say "NO", give it a 2 minute time out and turn your back on it. It will learn not to bite.

Ideally puppies would be with other puppies until they are 4-5 months old. Then they would learn from their siblings how to play without biting. I got a dog that was 5 months old and he knew already how to play without biting.

Unfortunately most puppies are sent on their way at 2 months...they don't know better. Pet stores want them young because cute and young sells.

BTW invest $10 in a dog training book from Amazon...it'll answer questions like this as well as others. You need the "owner's manual" to get the most out of your dog.

When you say "walk" is it on a leash because dogs need to run around w/out a leash in a safe environment no matter how fast you can run this dog can go at least twice as fast and it needs some full on top speed sprinting action to really "wear" her out try teaching fetch or something similiar mine loves to fetch in the house if you've got a hall or something an hour or so of that should help also a lot of chewing toys something like a kong toy stuffed w/peanut butter keeps a pups attention for quite awhile

Will your dog chase a Frisbee? Or a ball? If your dog is still a puppy, you may have to teach her to bring it back!

If you can get her to run after something that you throw, then you can stand still and let her run around!

And, about the biting-- if she is biting because she gets over excited while you are playing, then you need to tell her "No!" and get up and walk away whenever she bites.
When she calms down, return to playing. She will soon learn that biting makes the fun stop.

In the puppy world, when another puppy bites them too hard they "yelp" and stop playing with them for a minute. As suggested in my source, I told my children if the puppy bites them, to say "ouch" stand up and walk away. Being ignored is like a punishment. Also make sure you throw for the puppy (teach her to retrieve) and let her run free for some exercise every day and provide her with lots of chew toys.

Walking your puppy is great. Keep that up. Have you tried playing fetch? Try to keep your puppy as active and occupied as possible. Get chew toys; these will decrease your puppy's need to bite as well as keep him/her from being bored. The whole point is to interact with the dog as much as possible. Smart, energetic dogs usually get into trouble when they are bored. Keep that in mind.

OMG our Australian Shepherd had the same problem and let me tell ya' those teeth are sharp!!! The solution for that is when ever your dogs teeth touch you, even if it doesn't hurt, let out a high pitched "ouch" then turn your back to her. If you consistently do this it WORKS!!! When they finally learn the will go in spirts to test you but when she picks it up again just start the process over again and she will get what you are doing

Do you use a firm voice saying, "NO" when correcting her? Does she have toys that she can play with or are you playing with her using your hands?. She may be just confused as she is just a puppy. You have to teach them as well because they have to learn just as babies & children need to be taught what is acceptible behavior. Sometimes owner's play too rough with their pets and they get rough back.

Also, when she is old enough, if you have her spayed she will quiet down.

You need to exercise the dog. No matter if you do take the dog on a walk, fetch, longer walks, running, whatever you can do, exercise. That's it, then training comes easy.

Take the puppy on LLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG walks. That'll tire him out. If that is not possible (because of work or something) have someone come to your house to play with him.
