Why does this happen?

Has anyone else noticed that people get sick and throw up during the night more than they do during the day? At least that is how it is for me. Does anyone know why this happens?

i have noticed that and think it may be due to the position of the person (lying down). i suggest keeping a kitchen pot next to the bed so you don't have to make it all the way to the bathroom if you get sick in the middle of the night. it saved a lot of clean-up when i was a kid. :)
