I just got denture plates put in my mouth and they don't fit right yet. dentist told me to try and eat best I can with them until I can get back to see her. But I can barely chew at all and today I had a sandwich cause I was starving! but didn't get it chewed up very good at all before swallowing and now my stomach is upset. Will this mess up my digestive system and are there other things I should be concerned about?

It probably isn't dangerous. I have pondered this same question. Stomach acid is strong enough to dissolve Tylenol and large tablets so it should be strong enough to dissolve larger portions of food. Food is even softer than tablets like Tylenol. Eat soft foods and drink Ensure shakes to maintain your weight until you adapt to your new dentures or get them fixed.

you might want to eat foods that don't need a lot of chewing until you get them fit properly. Big chunks of unchewed meat, fibrous veggies, even nuts can cause constipation, gas and worse. But the effects aren't permanent.
