What do you think about the American language? Does it sound strange to you? If you learned or are learing the language, is it or was it difficult to learn? Are their any particular words or phrases that you thought or think are stupid, funny or weird?
Im just curious to know.
Thankyou!=)

I'm from Puerto Rico and I live there too. Basically, English is my second language. I think English is a very "cool" language. It doesn't sound strange at all. For me English has been a very easy language to learn. Spanish is so much more difficult. Let's see... The vulgar words to describe the genitals sound funny, both male and female... LOL.

God bless you.

What do you think about the American language? You, most probably, want to say American English? It's nice, became an international standard.

Does it sound strange to you? Not a bit more than any other foreign language

If you learned or are learning the language, is it or was it difficult to learn? Every serious task takes time. Difficult - NO.

Are their any particular words or phrases that you thought or think are stupid, funny or weird? Since my native language is phonetic one, I always "adored" nice words like enough or though...when spelling has nothing in common with the pronunciation. There are no STUPID words, maybe only funny ones.

I like most the American language rather than the English and that's the reason why I'm posting exclusively on the Yahoo's US section and not at all on the UK (I don't like Britishers) or in the Italian section (I'm Italian but I've found too many kidda/dumb questions over there). It's possible that my opinion about American language has been also influenced by the fact I'm in business with a Newyorker company but it's a fact that in spite I'm also fluent in Spanish and French I've almost never visited those sections. Between us I don't find so many strange words or phrases in the American slang (and none of them looks to me to be stupid, while a few are funny or weird) and frankly speaking I'm sometimes more surprised when I hear the English spoken by a Londoner since I'm not used to their "pure and original" English. If you click on my profile and you look at my answers you'll realize that I'm not used to be a liar and that what I've written in this answer is really true.
In any case thanks for yr clever question (not too many in the surrounds...!!).

I speak three languages plus English. And I loved every minute of learning English. For me, English language - especially the American English- is easy and interesting.
Through my learning English, people offered me help, books, on-line dictionaries that covers Medical, Economic, History and any other field I feel like educating myself in.
Its a handy-easy to learn & understand language with rich resources.
( good question)
cheers
