...people who come into a subject with no other intention than to deride or outright slam it. I'm talking about people in this subject who come in and reply to legitimate questions such as "Where is the best place in such-and-such to go for a tattoo? Any recommendations?". If you don't like tattoos, fair enough but don't reply with your views if it has no bearing at all on the question.

I would never dream of going into, say, religion and spirituality and posting a comment about someone elses beliefs if it had no bearing or was incredibly insulting. I would more than likely get chewed out for it and rightly so.

Tattoos in your opinion might seem slutty or trampy, but that is no reason to label everyone who has a tattoo as such. Name calling is just belittling yourself, not the person you're replying to.

The truth is people have different views on things, but save your views for the questions where it is asked for. Are two points really worth insulting someone else for?

Sorry if I'm being rude but it's just really irresponsible when people reply when they've obviously no clue about tattoos and they advise someone on them.

Skin diseases and gangrene? Hmmm, I've never heard of anyone, who went to a reputable tattooist, have problems with those.

Sorry again if I'm being ranty!

...Oops! I meant to add a question as well!

Has anyone had a tattoo fade after a short while? My ankle tattoo needs touching up and I've only had it since May!

I completely agree with you. If you don't agree or don't like something, don't respond hatefully to a question that someone has asking for genuine advice on it. Stick to a category where you can give constructive advice. Despite many people's opinions on the matter, there will always be those that will continue to answer in categories or subjects with which they disagree to specifically express their dislike of it. It's annoying as h*ll, but there's nothing that can really be done except ignore said answers. (or you could give them the good ol' thumbs down. I've been known to do that when a response annoys or pisses me off enough.)
EDIT: You added a question! lol I have two tattoos and they haven't faded on me yet, and I've had them going on a year and a half. It could be because of the color or quality of ink used. Also, if you tan or spend alot of time in the sun that could have faded it. You might need to get the tattoo touched up. Hope that helps!

That's funny that you almost forgot the question... haha... :) Sounds like me! Yeah, it's pretty stupid when people do that. Usually if I have a question about a tattoo it is because I need an answer... not because I care what people think about me getting a tat... ugh. Well, anyway! I have a small star on my finger, and WOW! It faded quick! It took about 2 months. It was pink and purple, now it is skin colored (except for the black outline). I heard it is very common for finger tats though. I have one on my ankle, but it is just a black outline so it hasn't faded. Some artists will touch it up for free if you go back! Also, if you ever get another have that artist touch up any faded tats you have and just tip them big time. :)

People can be rude and ignorant, but if you are going to post questions here, just take that as a given, and forget about them. You will get good answers, too, so ignore the jerks and take the good advice you do get. By the way, I have many tattoos, and I am not slutty or trampy, just well decorated!

i am going from the point of view (i am a tattoo educator) that yes, it is your decision, but you should be informed. tattoos fade. your ideas will change and you might hate it later. in my experience, most folks regret the tattoo eventually and want it off but there's no easy way. i don't think it's just a matter of opinion and i should leave others' opinions alone. i feel that i should share my perspective/wisdom. a friend who is a doctor sees mostly people who don't want their tattoos. tattoo parlors will not admit or tell you that all tattoos will smear and fade. because of biology and how our bodies are made. i think you should go into it with full knowledge and that is what i am trying to provide.
if you were allowed to get a tattoo at 5 years old, what would you get? barney? and where? how does an 18-yr-old feel about having barney there (probably interests have changed by then)
and trust me, the 48-yr-old will have different interests than the 18. i just know too many adults who regret their tattoos. so those considering it should know that.
i think it's more like a health and maturity issue, and so are many aspects of religion. a belief (god is a man in the sky with a beard) that many children hold will change as their perspective changes. i have no qualms about telling a 5-yr-old that i don't see god as an old man in the sky. i don't feel i'm doing somethign wrong by telling my experience. and yes, as a spiritual educator part of my goal might be to help them change or broaden their perspective of the world, just like folks gung ho to get a tat who may not have considered all the things i have.

I agree with you! Some people just feel that they have to get on their soapbox about everything and don't really care who they're hurting or insulting. I have a tattoo (on my stomach) and would hope that people didn't deem me as sleazy or slutty. You just have to ignore some of the garbage on here and hit the thumbs down!

all tattoos fade over time...some more quickly than others....eventually you -do- need to have your ink touched up or re outlined, etc...(have you ever seen older gentlemen and women with tattoos that look blurry? it's because they have never been touched up)

int he case of only having one a short time and if fades, perhaps your skin didn't accept the ink as well as someone else's skin might. i've seen it happen with red and yellow colored ink the most...ALSO..if the tattoo is exposed to sunlight, tanning, etc...it will fade more quickly. i've had one of mine fade, and have to get it touched up soon, resulting from a couple bad sunburns over the summer.

talk to your artist, see what he/she recomends and possibly discuss cost of having it touched up a bit to bring the color back to it ^^

Scarlet..lol..."well-decorated"... I love that. I have two tatts, both on my back. One is what people call the "tramp stamp." I am in no way, shape, or form, a tramp. But just like everything else in this world, having a tatt in that area has been stereotyped. It's sad.

Yes, some will fade. My "tramp stamp" has faded a bit. I'll get it touched up, one of these days.

yes, i've had that. i had a weird reaction to the blue ink in my tattoo, and it faded more than any of the other colors. i had to have it redone about two months later, but since then it's been perfectly fine. good luck!

A enormous stomach dosent imply a enormous child, there might be a tiny little factor in there in its simply fluid. Dont take it to middle. One man or woman will consider you appear gigantic, the following will consider you appear small, while actually your stomach is solely the correct measurement for you, your frame & your child. Dont fear in any respect and revel in your being pregnant and appear ahead to assembly your new child, x

Here, here. I think we're all sick of it. I only answer questions that I know something about. If you don't have a tattoo then you don't know much about the subject.
