Why are Jehovah’s Witnesses persecuted and spoken against?
Jesus said: “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.” (John 15:18, 19; see also 1 Peter 4:3, 4.) The Bible shows that the whole world lies under Satan’s control; he is the principal instigator of the persecution.—1 John 5:19; Revelation 12:17.
Jesus also told his disciples: “You will be objects of hatred by all people on account of my name.” (Mark 13:13.) The word “name” here means what Jesus officially is, the Messianic King. Persecution comes because Jehovah’s Witnesses put his commands ahead of those of any earthly ruler.
There was opposition to Jesus’ preaching, and he said that his followers also would be opposed. When some were impressed with Jesus’ teaching, religious opposers retorted: “You have not been misled also, have you? Not one of the rulers or of the Pharisees has put faith in him, has he?” (John 7:46-48; 15:20) Many who advise you not to study with the Witnesses are either uninformed or prejudiced. Study with the Witnesses and see for yourself whether your Bible understanding increases or not.—Matthew 7:17-20.

It is true that Jehovah's Witnesses are not loved by everyone.
http://jw-media.org/newsroom/human_rights.htm
Some people hate Jehovah's Witnesses out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of anti-Witness hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Ooohla - I know some people call the JW a cult. There are other religions that get that same designation. I have read nothing they have given me or had any experience with them that would place them in the "cult" category. So much bashing just describes what a lot of people here do to everything and everyone.
GOD BLESS YOU

No one should be "bashing" other religions, here or anywhere else. God gave us free will. We don't have to agree with what the JW's believe, and we have the right to say so and vice versa. I am not a JW but two members of my family are. JW's are permitted into certain countries where other religions are not allowed because JW's have no political convictions. No other religion can say that.

Actually, they bash Muslims far more in here, but for Christians bashing Christians, it is pretty high. I wonder what it would be like if this was 1900 years ago, and it was Jews talking about Jewish Christians?
The question Christians should be asking themselves is who best represent the third (3 equal perfection in the Bible) emergence of God's People?
The Jews were the first of God's Chosen People. They started out as a small group with unusual beliefs in one god. This was not in keeping with main stream beliefs and as such they came under persecution.
The Christian (Jews) were the second of God's Chosen People. They started out as a small group with unusual beliefs that the Messiah had come. This was not in keeping with main stream beliefs and as such they came under persecution.
The JW (Christians) may be the third (3 equals perfection) of God's Chosen People. They started out as a small group with unusual beliefs that the Messiah had come the second time. This was not in keeping with main stream beliefs and as such they come under persecution.
If not the JWs, than who. What people has branched off of Christianity like Christianity branched off of Judaism? What group is small compared to the whole and has beliefs not in complete keeping with the mainstream beliefs of the whole?

One of our neighbor is in that religion.. And they are nice, quiet, respectable people, they don't do weird things like cults do. I seriously doubt that they are a cult! People should stop picking on them, they don't do anything horrible at all. oohLa is right, they are just trying to share their knowlege about God.. I mean I am buddhist but I really truly respect them, they have a good heart and mean no harm to anyone.

I liked what (Jeremy) posted,he pretty well sums it up.however I
would like to add something on a comment that one answerer saw
fit to expound on.That would be the observation that (WE) Jehovahs
Witnesses are not of the main stream religions! And BOY is that
the truth. And the reason is in the Bible.Look at Matt.7:13,14.Many,
many, are on that wide and spacious(main stream)road. You might
also want to look at;(2Tim.4:3--5.)It kinda addresses the (main stream)religions of this world. But truthfully they dont mind being
persecuted and bearing many lying and untrue accusations
aginst them because we know that Christ had to do the same,
and proved faithful even unto Death.

JW are very sincere in there belief but they have taken the word of God and twisted it to there own liken ,There God is the watchtower and not the God of the bible ,they have predicted the end time countless of times and they denie Jesus Christ as God ,and the worst of it they work for there salvation (Rigtenouss is a gift)you cant earn your way into heaven , Read the Word of God on your own then find some place that preaches truth /God Bless you

Do not be to sensitive to what is said in here. A very large part of the participants here are just trying to entertain themselves. I will get thumbs down to prove my point by saying they are the group bully mentality of gang up on the individual or the weaker to make you point seem better.

Most are good people, but just as in any other religion, some seem to be not so great. Society and families are critical of things they don't understand or are different from their perceived "normal".
